Problems with door opening from inside?

when I first recieved my car, I also have experienced the same issue of touching the botton (assuming the door would open) like millions of other car doors would
I went to a GM dealer, and even the GM SERVICE tech that specilizes servicing CORVETTES for 12 years DIDN'T know what was causing this
for whomever is experiencing the same, I guess we are all so stupid compared to the other people on here that are sooo smart and think that they know it all and have never had any issue

Looked at the mechanical design and:
First: Understand why I don't have an issue and never did! I used the grab hold and press the latch release electrical switch with my thumb. So am pushing when I press the button. Only press once or better said press with thumb and don't release until door is open!
Second: GM could have made the button bigger with a bigger spring so you had to "Push Harder" to have the button latch release electrical switch activate. That way the force to push the button would open the door!
But then some folks would complain it's too hard to push!

No one called anyone stupid. I explained, in several posts, how the door button on a C8 (and C6 and C7) works. Welcome to victimhood, which you imposed on yourself with this post.

it's the smart *** remarks.like yours
I own a Mercedes and it has a button opening for inside and I DONT have to push. It's touch and out !
I have experience with push button and don't have that issue like my c8

To assume the C8 works like an M-B is, as you discovered, incorrect. I told you how it works in 3 different posts...either take my FACTUAL experience and knowledge, having owned FOUR Corvettes with this door opener, or just keep on thinking the car is malfunctioning (it's not), Good luck.
PS. You get "smart ***" replies when NUMEROUS people tell you HOW the door operates and YOU ignore it.

It is designed this way so an inadvertent push (with your knee, for example) won't allow the door to open all the way (it will catch on the secondary latch), just like EVERY door handle would.
In my memory (been here 16 years) this NEVER came up with C6/C7. I can only assume that there are lots of first time Corvette owners with the C8.

The answer has been explained in multiple posts by multiple people in this thread. How about just taking their advice?

The C8 doesn't have an issue, the owner does. To not hurt your feelings, I'm one of them. I didn't own a C6 or a C7 and I too have been doing it wrong. I'm fine with admitting I WAS DOING IT WRONG. It's no big deal, it's just ignorance (by definition is a lack of knowledge, stupidity is something different) and becoming both knowledgeable of the car and acclimated to it. To this day there are owners that don't know how to open the frunk with their fob after the OTA that changed it.

Thank you Phil!
Too many here "assume" the car is broken...so you explain HOW the door works and they ignore you and continue to whine that the car is broken.

It's certainly not a major thing, but does anyone else notice that they have to push the silver door button a couple of times? It seems like it partially unlatches but not all the way. I keep thinking that maybe I'm just not pushing it and keeping my finger on it long enough. Also, the frunk seems to be kind of the same way. Again, maybe I'm just tapping the button too quickly.

No need to tap the button multiple times or too quickly. People have the tendency to do that, thinking it would work faster. That's not the case, you just have a higher chance of ruining it! This only happened to me once, but I've learned to push the door while pressing the button once or twice. That's all I have to do. I remember this happened right when my garage door remote broke, and I had to change it completely! Bought a wooden one from https://doorsdirect2u.co.uk/product-.../garage-doors/. Terrible timing!!
