Besides being a mid-engine car the next biggest reason I bought one was for the DCT transmission if it had a “traditional transmission” I would have thought twice about buying it. I believe many feel the same.

Did you also take the booster shot?
The other guys not saying there should be ONLY manuals, he's saying it should be an option.

My wife's Porsche 718 has the PDK, double cluth automatic transmission and it calls for fluid and filter change at 120,000 miles, and is rock solid. I just don't understand what is up with C8's DCT.

Are you from the planet Mars? Tadge has explained many time why a manual was not possible in the C8. Clearly it’s you who took the booster shot.

Why Is There No Manual Corvette? We Ask Chief Engineer Tadge Juechter (discussion begins 13:00 mins into the video)

Tadge is smart, but he's a corporate-tier engineer. He just cares about the profits, and knows the average customer just wants a lecool fast sports car.
For the others who want a manual, he waves them off with this explanation.
>inb4 "prove it"
Here is a guy whos making his C8 manual himself https://www.youtube.com/@mattfield777/videos

PS that's a different argument
I didn't even mention if it's possible or not,
the other guy said he wished manual was an option
you responded by saying you might not have bought it if manual was the only option
to which I responded saying the first guy never said he wished manual was the only option

Most of the problems are repeated on multiple Facebook pages by the same people. Plus, there are many trolls on these sites that just make things up to start something.

I didn't read the previous 49 posts. I'd prefer it have a "normal" transmission. Way too much DCT drama and potential major expense if you're unlucky. I prefer my transmissions 1) rebuildable and 2) less than 5 figure$.

Tadge never said it wasn't possible. Tadge said they couldn't find a vendor to build it. Translation: They couldn't find anyone to build it at the price they wanted. If you put enough money into it, of course, they could have built a manual transmission themselves. Remember Muncie? It's not like manual transmissions are a big technical challenge. They are the simplest transmissions out there. Translation, management shot it down due to cost. Why aren't there closer gear ratios for the Z06? Management shot it down due to cost.

This. I'm new to Corvette's and especially the DCT. The most muscle I've driven is 99 Mustang SVT Cobra, which was manual. All of my other cars have been more or less on the higher end side. Point being, the DCT took some getting used to as it feels like in certain conditions it chugs a bit. Doesn't bother me now but took a little getting used too.

Default 85 db is ridiculously high

75 db is vacuum cleaner
85 db is city traffic
If the interior of your car is even 75db loud that is too loud.
