Matthew,
Sorry for your loss. I too lost my father last July and still have dreams like he never left only to wake up and face that reality. He was larger than life, I'm sure very much as your father was for you and yours.
Same. On both accounts. He had 5 children one terminally ill from birth and lived for almost 18 years. A corvette made no sense when medical bills and the rest of us existed. But he too loved cars. I was fortunate enough to be there for my father when he passed in the hospital.
We always take for granted the time with those we care about because it's human to block out that unpleasant thought. As we get older we realize that mistake and try to pass on our knowledge to others. Like don't delete that seemingly meaningless voice-mail from your loved ones.
They say you never truly become a man until your father passes. I would forgo that in a heartbeat for another 5 minutes with him.
God bless.

Matthew, my deepest condolences and sympathies to you and your family on the passing of your dad. If there was an "Ultimate Corvette Guy" club, Harvey would surely be a charter member. His love and passion for Corvettes was legendary around here. He always took the friendly teasing he received about buying and selling these cars with dignity and class. His cars were his pride and joy and were always immaculate and well-cared for. I came very close to purchasing his one of a kind Night Race Blue C6 ZR1 back in the day but came to my senses and realized I needed another one like I needed a hole in the head. I fondly remember our conversations regarding that car and always wished I had gone ahead and pulled the trigger on it. Anyway, your dad was a good man who possessed honesty, integrity and class. To me, that is the highest compliment anyone could wish for. Thank you for taking the time to inform his Corvette Forum friends of his passing. Rest in peace, HARVEY T. GLUCK.

Sorry for your loss......I had heard about your dad many times during my "Corvette" lifetime.
I read your post and it brought a tear to my eyes. You did a great MITZVAH taking your dad in the new silver C8.
May his memory always be a blessing to you......

Very sorry to hear...I enjoyed his posts and reading about what Corvette would be next.. Very sad day indeed. Cancer does suck and that is a particularly cruel way to go as well. He can at least enjoy everything all again now. RIP dear sir.

Matthew, so sorry to hear about your dad! Harvey was a true Corvette enthusiast that I could relate to 100%! I too, have had the Corvette passion since I was 9 years old and am currently at age 68, on my 42nd. Corvette since the age of 18.
I always looked forward to your dad's posts to see what his next Vette would be. He will be sorely missed!

Matthew,
My condolences to you and your family. I am very sorry for your loss.
I never met your dad in person, but felt as though I "knew" him through his posts.
He was certainly a character, but very knowledgeable, a real Corvette guy, and a truly good guy.
I will miss him.

So sorry to hear the news Matthew.
Very well written piece. Your father would have been proud. Keep the silver car and continue his journey in it.

Very sad to hear of your Dad's passing. While I didn't get to meet him in person I looked forward to his posts on this forum and the old C5 Registry. Went to my first Birthday bash at the NCM in 2000 with my son Nick who was 14 at the time and suspect he may have also been there. He deserves a memorial at the NCM.
Rest in Peace Harvey
