534 days and Counting
So as of today, It has been 534 days since I placed my order and $3,500 deposit with the local dealer in October of 2019 for a 2020.(they had 20 allocations in 2019 and I was supposed to be #16 for a 2020 car.). When it was clear I wouldn't get a 2020, we built a new order for a 2021
In January of this year,I was told I was # 6 on the list and they got 3 allocations in the first quarter, so based upon that they probably get 3 for the next quarter and I find out today they did, Unfortunately (without them saying as much) 2 orders were put ahead of mine and not from my doing or constraints.
Now it looks like it will be a 2022 and I do believe they will hold the price for me, but not happy for possibly having the record for longest time from deposit to delivery. I now understand fully why so many are buying from one of the a big Corvette dealers.

OMG... Dude, time to cut bait and run. You would have had your car over a year ago with MacMulkin, Kerbeck, or Criswell. Go get your deposit back and call Call Shane Malone at MacMulkin Chevrolet ((603) 888-1121. Unless you really DON'T want a C8 Corvette and are happy just to pretend you are getting one....

Can't begin to imagine just how frustrated you must be.

I was in about the exact same boat. kept thinking it was best to continue with local dealer. My local dealer then recently told me they were ignoring the list and just ordering for themselves. I started to understand that something wasn't right in Jan of this year so I placed an order with one of the top 2 dealers at the very end of Jan. Now expect to have a car sometime this fall could even be 21MY. for at least a back up plan I would suggest getting on one of their lists and you will probably have a car in less than 6 months.

I bought mine locally from a dealer that was honest about list of waiting orders, allocations and pricing and everything worked out fine without such long wait.
It is my understanding that dealers who sell more, get more. Hypothetically if everyone buys from only these three no other dealer would get allocations. i’m not interested in supporting such an imbalance.
In addition, remote purchase and long distance delivery can result in a royal pain (if things don’t go smoothly) that would be easier to deal with if purchased locally.
It is understood that not everyone has an honest local dealer.
I would much rather see my local honest dealer thrive and build good sales and support for these cars than one 1,500 miles away.

As of today 615 days made my deposit 8-2-2019 with Texas largest dealer and in the top 15 in the nation last five or six years. Was at the back of the allocations for the 2020MY nr 268 of 272. Now 21 on list will go in next allocations.IF GM HAS ANY MORE FOR 2021.I bet many more loyal Corvette owners in same boat stuck at 1100 stataus, my guess THOUSANDS!! GM need to have more allocations for the 2021 year to take care of us.

There are plenty of dealers around that get decent allocation. No need to run to one of these three. Especially if they are far away from you. Seems a bunch of folks here like to talk these three up all the time around here.

This forced me to look to the bigger dealers mentioned here all the time and I must say I have been so impressed with MacMulkin that I think it would make it really hard to ever buy local again for the following reasons:
MM has been very communicative throughout this entire process (and that by itself is really impressive given the amount of volume they do every month).
MM was able to get me an allocation a lot faster than any of my local dealer could and did not charge a dime over MSRP.
MM is a supporting vendor of this forum and are on here every day providing valuable info to the board (which, again is very impressive given their volume of work every day at the dealership).
MM takes the time to update their ENTIRE order list online EVERY weekday so that everyone knows their order status everyday and they also take the time to update their entire order wait list every week (and this at times has over 800 people on it).
MM knows as much about the car as any other dealer (and let's be real... they know a lot more about the car and the ordering process and tracking of orders than 99% of the dealers out there).
MM makes buying out of state extremely easy by offering many delivery options and handling all of the logistics with your delivery choice.
I get wanting to buy local, and I am all for trying local first. However, I also believe in trust, but verify... meaning I can see trying to go with a local dealer but also having a deposit down with a dealer like MM. If the OP had done this at the beginning, he would have had the option getting his allocation accepted last year and be driving his new Stingray now.

Oh My ... I would be finding another dealership. I had deposits at three dealerships with in 250 miles of my house, one local but the others were at the edge. When one dealership told me I would be going 3000 I canceled with the other 2 and got back my ransom money from them. In the end it was 4 months .. order to delivery for a 2021 HTC.

That's the fastest time period from order to delivery I have heard of. Awesome !!

I would see this as a major RED FLAG that this scumbag dealership will take you for another ride again in the future. At least back yourself up with a reputable, ethical dealership.

Fast indeed...Like Warp Ten did, I am seeing a similar TPW timeline. My initial deposit Feb 17th, TPW Jun 14th, both of us placed the order at Hendrick Chevy, in Duluth GA.
@RobRace10 and @rsl2715 You guys are very patient.

In January I put my deposit down with a big Houston dealer and then got on another list (no deposit) with a dealer in the neighboring state. I found this La. dealer had a good allocation of corvettes over the years but was 50 miles away from any major cities. I went to 2000 status and paid a $2000 deposit in early February and went to 3000 on the 16th. My salesman told me they prioritize their allocations on being a past customer, local customers and then those from out of state, though he told me they consider Texas a sister state and local.
It pays to spread your seeds around.

I believe Im with that very same dealership (Grapevine). I placed my deposit in May 2020, I believe I was #347 at that time. I emailed them last week to see where I was in line. Im now 240!!!!!!!! At this rate I dont believe I`ll get a 22`... I placed another deposit at MM in Jan. 21`.. I was 814, now I`m 246... I definitely see progress. My local dealership in Tx wont even answer my email when I ask how many they`re getting per month... I`m guessing around 9-10 and this is supp0sed to be the largest Vette dealership in Texas....Maybe I`ll let them do my courtesy delivery just to stay in touch for future service.
