Red Mist versus Torch Red-two HTCs side-by-side Vote Now
My friend and I both received new non-Z51 HTCs this week, both went to the same dealer. After they were both cleaned up he had them brought out in the sun and took some photos. Take a look and let us know what you think?

For me, Red Mist. I think the C8 looks good in TR, but TR still has too much orange in it for my taste.

Both are great but I think the C8 looks better in Torch Red

Red Mist is beautiful, and I debated between Torch Red and Red Mist (as well as Rapid Blue) for months. You really can't go wrong with either Red Mist or Torch Red. I ended up going with a Torch Red HTC.
On Red Mist and Rapid Blue I like the carbon flash metallic roof and nacelles, and would have ordered that option if I had chosen one of those colors. For some reason, though, I like the Torch Red better without it. Not sure why. Anyway, that was my final configuration.
I think staring at the various color options for over a year after I placed my deposit just kept making the decision more difficult. One day I would be set on Torch Red, the next day on Red Mist, and then the following day on Rapid Blue. I finally presented to my friends and family pictures of C8s from the build site with the various color options in which I was interested. Everyone to whom I showed the pictures picked Torch Red without the carbon flash metallic roof and nacelles. That helped my make up my mind.

Red mist
I bet 35 to 40 % of this model year will be either torch red or red mist. You are not alone if you choose a red. Those are the only colors I have seen on the road in the burbs of Chicago.

Torch red, but it needs some help with wheels & a spoiler. Not a fan of the "old man red" variants.

Burning Brakes
Prefer Red Mist.

Red Mist Tintcoat Metallic. Again, a biased opinion. But of the two C8s that started this debate, I like the Torch Red one with the standard silver 5 spoke wheels. Looks lighter on it's feet and the monolithic look of the matching roof and nacelles give it a clean, flowing appearance.

If you are a fan of red, they both look good. Red Mist takes it the next level. It's deeper, richer and sparkles in the right light.
Torch Red is your fire engine red...It screams "look at me" and will always be a fan favorite. But to me, Red Mist is a richer looking red, while Torch Red is more of a Skittles color (and I don't mean that in a bad way).

Not a fan of red metallic. I don’t care what name Chevrolet is giving it this year. It’s been one of the color options since the C4 by one name/shade or another. They should have done away with it like they did away with the chrome wheels. None metallic red is classic!
