Gt1 seats vs gt2

I just picked up a 2021 LT2 HTC with the GT1 seats and I am 6’4” and 260 and I was comfortable. Rented a 2020 vette with the competition seats and I was miserable. The GT1 seats and the GT2 seats arent any different from what I understand except for the carbon inserts. But many would know better on here.

Are GT2 seats really worth the premium of $1495 if one doesn’t plan to track the car? If yes, why?

I got the GT1 seats on my 2LT. Have had several surgeries on my low back. The seat can be adjusted to be supportive and comfortable.

The reasons one might be willing to pay for the GT2 seats:
The look really nice, with the carbon fiber inserts and painted (rather than bare plastic) backs.
You can only get the micro-suede inserts or two-tone options on the GT2.
Most people seem to prefer the headrest design of the GT2 over the GT1.

The GT2 seats really aren't about tracking the car. In a 2LT, they are functionally pretty much identical to the GT1. All the same features and adjustments (heat, ventilation, lumbar, and all the same adjustment including seatback bolsters). The bolsters are pretty much identical in size and shape.

The GT2 seats are similar to the GT1 seat but use a higher density foam that is noticeably firmer. I had them in my C8, but after driving a 2LT at the NCM track with the GT1 seats, I think I’d save some money and stay with the GT1 seats. If you’ve sat in a C7 with the base GT seat the GT1 seat is almost identical in dimensions and comfort.
