Keep my C7 with my C8?

Keep my C7 with my C8?
My order for a 2021 HTC convertible will make MM March allocation (at #79). My question is those of you that were C7 owners, did you keep it or sell/trade in. If you could have kept it would you? My C7 is 2014 LRG Z51 Coupe that is my first corvette and I am toying with the idea of keeping it - but will I want to keep driving it after I take my in my C8. After all, there is only so much driving time...Curious to see what others thought on this topic and what they decided to do.
Thanks in advance!

I sold my 2014 Laguna Blue 3LT Z51 M7 the week before I picked up my C8 at the NCM. I sold my C5 when I got my C6 and sold the C6 when I got my C7. Never any regret. Now if I had a big block C2, I'd want to keep it. But no need to keep a C7. It's not collectible like the C2 and the C8 is much better.

2020 C8 of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
WHY ??? I could understand possibly keeping a C7 Z06, or without a doubt a ZR1 but otherwise, I'd struggle to find a good reason to keep your C7. As much as I TRULY LOVED our '17 GS 3LT I haven't looked back and wished that I'd kept it, even if I could have had both. The C8 is a step up in most all regards.
Unless there was some serious sentimental reasons to keep it......... dad's car passed down to you, etc.
We EARLY traded our '17 GS in 13 months before taking delivery of our 2020 which arrived Aug 2020.

I sold my 2014 C7 convertible just last Friday in anticipation of a C8 HTC delivery in late summer. If I could have kept both, I would have. However, in my case I had to sell one in order to afford the other. I will miss my C7. I loved that car. It was virtually flawless, and damn near the prettiest car I have ever laid eyes on. I just hope I love the C8 as much. I believe I will....

I’ve been going thru the same sentiments. I have my order at 3000 now for my C8 HTC. I will be selling my 2014 z51 as soon as I find out when my new car will be coming in. Truly thought about keeping both but the reality is the C7 would probably only see 700 miles a year vs. the 8,000 I will most likely put on the C8. Congrats and good luck with the car (I’ve already ordered my After Market wheels (Stance SFO3) Gloss black with a little grey]. Much better looking than the stock without going completely black (IMHO).

Simple solution.
Keep the C7 and once you own the C8 reassess.
You can't wind back the clock if you get rid of the C7 when you get the C8. And C7s are commanding very good money right now. So if you wanted one back? You'll pay dearly.
Take it slow. Good luck.
Ps. If I had the room? I would've kept both my C6 and C7 when I get the C8(Z). But I don't. Plus she'd divorce me.

THey're 2 completely different cars. I have '19 Z06 M7 and if I get a C8, it will be in addition not a replacement. FE/RWD vs ME/RWD, completely different experience.

Keeping my Z06 M7....will never be able to duplicate a front engine Vette with a manual bought new/ordered ever again...different experience that than the C8 will provide....look forward to having both in the garage.

I kept my 2014, Z51, 7 speed ragtop when I got my 2020, Z51, HTC. The C7 is very different in character than the C8. The C7 is a stick and more 'visceral', as compared to the more sophisticated C8. C7 is more "fun" bombing around on our rural back roads. The C8 is a sophisticated, very "pinned down" and high performing car. Both are "great" (in my opinion) and are very different.

I could see keeping the C7 if it has a manual transmission. That part of the driving experience sadly cannot be replicated in a C8.

I didn’t let go of my C6 when I picked up the C8. Didn’t think think I’d ever want to drive the C6 again. I do, mostly when it’s raining.

I wouldn't keep the C7. If I wanted another sports car in addition to the C8, I'd get something other than another Corvette.

I kept my C7 ('15 Z51 convertible 7-spd) because it is a true manual. I've had a manual transmission car for the last 55 years. Just picked up my C8 (HTC) less than two weeks ago at the museum. Has less than 450 miles on it. Once I have a chance to spend more time in the C8 and switch off to the C7, I'll better know how much I would miss the 7-spd. If I did get rid of the C7, I'd have to replace it with something else...maybe I'll wait until that 'something else' presents itself.

Good advice - unless you have to sell the C7 to get the C8, just wait a bit and see what you want to do. You may just like having both in the garage.

I haven't owned a C7, but I did sell my first Corvette, and many times over the years, I've wished I'd have never done that. Perhaps it's like thinking back to the first girl you ever kissed....don't have her either, but I always wonder what if I did, even knowing that would have been terribly impractical, much like keeping a car, just to keep it (maintenance, insurance, license, storage, depreciation, etc.) It's a choice that only you can make.

Keeping the C& Z06
Well, since my 2016 Z06 A8 is paid for and just costs a bit of collector insurance a year, I'm keeping it. Only 7K miles and the last year for NRB and has the Z07 option. Completely covered in Xpel and ceramic coated. It is truly beautiful and I really like the Kalahari interior, I sure wish Kalahari was offered for the C8.
