I wish it was less of "a wall" and more like a strip running forward and backwards but its actually quite functional. Much better than going through menu screens.
I drive with the top down all the time and I'm adjusting the temp, fan, and seat heating and cooling depending on changing conditions. Its pretty useful.

The car is for me, not the passenger...PERIOD.
I like the wall and the sense of enclosure it gives the driver no to mention its unique. Not enough risk taking in modern car design. I LOVE IT!

May be awkward for some, but it's a bold design by GM, and I saw the image of the original napkin drawing. Overall, I very much like the interior, it's not the same old, same old. It's creative. I'll have my 2021 in about 10 weeks.....finally...after 14 months.

How many people who "hate it" actually have a C8 and are used to it? Somerset shouldn't get a vote without actually having the car.

speaking of sunny days....I have sky gray interior and the color trim wraps around the black and extends forward to the windshield. Very obvious reflection on the windshield in the sun.....almost to a point of distraction.

know exactly what you mean. too old to care either.....her flexibility has diminished so have to take "playtime" elsewhere.

The wall of buttons compliments the rest of the interior perfectly. Look at the narrow horizontal lines that house the HVAC vents and then how the wall of buttons extends that same theme perpendicular to the dashboard...

JMO but I think it looks really tacky. The center "wall" didn't need to be so high that it walled off the driver from the passenger. I think the GM interior designers hit a foul ball with this one. I'm hoping the "new" interior re-design supposedly coming out in 2023 will be more elegant and lower. I get that they wanted the driver's area to resemble what's in a jet fighter but they could have made that wall more subtle without standing out so much. To me, it detracts from rather then adds to the interior design. YMMV.

I like the look of it, but at 2,300 miles I still do not know where the buttons I'm looking for are. For example, driving today with my 11 year old daughter for just a joy ride we found ourselves behind a truck hauling livestock and the smell was terrible. I told her to find the "stinky button" i.e. the cabin button to quit outside air. I recalled it was about halfway down but didn't want to look down long enough to not be safe. She found it pretty quick - though she was not driving.

I like them.
Think they would be a bit better at 2 side by side rows instead of one long one,
maybe angled a few degrees more towards the driver & a Corvette emblem below that.

I understand many love the look and I’m totally ok with that. I just think it could have been lower. Actually 4” lower (not angled so much, almost horizontal) was what I was hoping for but the design suits many who like it. The button placement is intuitive, I just feel the wall didn’t need to be so high. I’ve actually driven many C8s and plan on ordering one myself, so I’ll learn to love it as well.

My passengers feel walled off. So does my girlfriend. My wife hates it too. So the design is poor, for the right side people.
Also reaching for a cup in the cupholder is more challenging for them. May be a good design for driver (that is debatable), but it is a crappy experience for the passenger. Also the wall feels like it is intruding into the passenger compartment. Visually that side is more claustrophobic. The passenger area is also narrower with no place to rest a long left arm.
As some commentors say, it only bothers some, while others are fine with it. Just like brown paint (er. I mean zeus bronze)

Visually unique and exotic in design and appearance. As far as ergos, it works perfectly fine.
Worst case senario, Possibly could be lowered flat to be even with the center console for those who might object, but still left as a strip of buttons. GM could leave the design as is, but possibly just lower it flat with center console height to appease those who dislike it........??
All Corvettes were never really passenger comfortable ( especially C4) , nor does it need to be.
What really cool performance car is comfortable for the passenger ? besides, passengers are short term riders anyway.

There are a lot of us that still want physical buttons for the things we use on a regular basis. I find it annoying as hell to have to dig through a touch screen to do something as routine as turning on the heated seats.
