C8 HTC for parade use

C8 HTC for parade use
My Corvette club participates in parades all year long. Has anyone come up with a safe way to carry a passenger on the C8 HTC "waterfall" and not damage the rear window? Since it doesn't retract completely, one can't sit anyone (he/she must be a "light weight" for sure!!) on the waterfall. An alternative would be some sort of booster seat for the passenger seat. The whole reason for the booster seat or sitting above the waterfall is for the celebrity passenger to be seen! Any suggestions...nice people??!!

I suppose you could put a couple double soft towel behind the window and level it out. Don't think I would, but hey half the stuff people do I wouldn't. That's my 1/2 cent worth of help. Adams Polishes, makes a double soft thick car towel, 3 layer would probably bring the height up. Stress on the deck? That's a whole lot of info I don't have. I could say the less weight the better, as in no top, but well that would be politically incorrect.
So good luck, happy driving.

Just make yourself a rigid and padded platform with a slot for the window.

I've used my Vettes for years in parades and I just bring 3 pillows along and see how many the passenger wants to use in the passenger seat to get them up in the air and more visible.

Thanks. It appears that the window sticks up quite a bit...3" maybe? My brother is an engineer and I'll get him on it. I was thinking of a thick, hard foam material covered in a soft, thick "pillow case". The foam could be cut to fit the space between the nacelles and be hard enough that the VIP passenger's weight wouldn't press on the window. I may just have to "bite the bullet" and get some sort of very thick booster seat for the right seat. The VIPs always want to be in the lime light so even with the fancy car, if they can't be seen, they won't want to ride. Can't blame them. There is a councilman that specifically asks for me to drive in the 4th parades because I make sure he's comfortable, as cool as I can keep him in the heat and I provide water for him and his wife who rides in the passenger seat. It's flattering that I'm requested each year. I gotta come up with something!

Lot more likely some high school girl will fall over trying to sit on the waterfall than an asteroid hits you. And a lot more likely her parents will sue.
Put a milk crate or similar on the seat and let her sit on that. She can hold onto the windshield header. Put a towel under it to protect the seat, and a cushion on top to protect her tender butt.

I have heard to is fashionable for beauty queens to represent a higher loading than in the past. Do you think the C8 can handle the higher loading?

Just folded a couple of blankets for the young lady to sit on. Raised her above the level of the window. No ill effects to the car.

...and your's is red mist too! Excellent. I had no issues with my C7 convertible. I bought a stiff black cushion from Amazon for the C8. It's made to boost someone in their office chair and will fit between the nacelles and raise the rider above the window. I just wasn't sure about the weight. We're doing a high school parade next week so I'll first put my big butt (without the weight on it!) to make sure it's secure and will rise above the window. I'll use rubber shelf liner to keep the skidding around on ceramic coating, too. Thanks for the logical reply and not the ridiculous replies some people think is "helpful".
