Snow tires for a C8
Not mine... but feel for this one in Kansas City.... It’s still coming down.
May be a Z51 with the summer tires.....

When I was up north I drove all my corvettes in the snow and did have snow tires. They did pretty well. Gawd forbid but it’s just a car.
16 z.....just another day at work.

I came out from a underground parking garage in my C5 - after a day at work while watching it snow all day. I came out, turned the wheels left and went directly into the curb right across the street. The Limited slip rear end didn’t slip, and the front tires made lousy skis.
Another time my C6 did just fine - as long as I kept moving. When a car stoped in front of me half way up a hill, and I had to stop, people behind me cussed my Corvette for 20 minutes..
I’ll bet the engine almost over the rear wheels will help with traction in the snow too

Safety Car
Front wheel drive car has 60% of the weight over the drive axle so does the C8. The weather mode on the skid pad demo at Spring Mountain shows how well the technology does on this car also.

C8 does great in the snow covered roads especially if they have plowed a few times.
rally cars before awd were rear mid engine and they did pretty good.
these cars dont melt. Snow tires are a smart move. I havent done that yet...we probably have had 60 inches of snow this january/February...i havent had a problem getting around the day after the storms and Im on P4s....not a problem. Surprisingly a Well balanced tire.

With snows on my C8 it’s just as good as my sons STI in snow.

Drifting
Mid engine cars handle snow well with all that weight over the driven wheels.
I will drive my C8 year round in MI. Haven’t yet decided if I’ll use winter tires or all season tires for the cold months.

I drove both of my C-2s in the Minnesota snows. They actually did rather we'll, My newer model Vettes are toys, and I drive them when it's warm......
I simply don't want to go through the cleaning it takes.........

i drive my C7 Z06 in the weather. I swap on a set of Michelin Alpin Winter tires mounted on a spare set of wheels. The car does very well. If/when I'm in snow I keep it in "weather" mode and really have no trouble unless I'm looking for it...
Summer tires CANNOT be driven in cold temps, it will damage your tires as the rubber cracks and can break off in chunks...lot of people don't know that, somehow.
Be careful, guys!
(older picks, but you get the point...)
Michelin Alpin left rear tire on my C7 Z06 M7
out for a drive in my old neighborhood after a bit of snow

I have all season Michelins on my C7 but it is not going to be driven in the snow. Could it be driven, yes, but that’s what I have a daily driver for when the weather gets bad.

Only if your son's STI has summer performance tires on it...otherwise don't see how this is possible...jmho....all push zero pull and forgetabout cornering...front end will slide out with any speed above granny mode
