Default The aftermarket has failed us

Or have bowed to their GM masters , Hear me out .
You hear "if only this car had 100 more HP it would be the greatest" more than anything else from C8 owners and over a year later we have NOTHING . This is America we INVENTED the speed shop and the hottest American sports car of all time has nothing worthwhile but instead crap like painted engine covers , exhausts and rims , you'd think the C8 was a Corolla
But WHY is this ? ... Every one of the early buyers and aftermarket started their "quest" for more HP and every one mentioned that GM "reached out" to them and they immediately dropped everything C8 , Imagine Youtubers who would sell their mothers for subscribers saw their subscriptions SOAR with C8 modding content just dropped the whole thing .... Same thing with the aftermarket and performance guys
Everyone bowed to GM's wishes and regular C8 owners were abandoned ...Remember when we used to laugh at hearing Ferrari had to approve every sale and banned you if you modded your car , we aren't laughing anymore

There are youTubers that have twin turbo systems, and new clutches and nitrous, headers, cat backs, high flow cats, cat test pipes, air filters etc. Maybe the big names like Callaway and Lingenfelter haven’t, but lots of work being done and already done.

With so much being controlled electronically, until GM releases the "tuning codes", there is a limit on what is possible, much less without causing damage to the engine. It'll be like Ecklers, nothing available for current years, just years after the fact downstream - oh btw, at ridiculous prices.

We need to give the OP a break. He obviously feels strongly that this is an issue. I for one, do not know, as My C8 is still 9-12 months away...

There are quite a few people who have twin turbo's their C8's already. Procharger allegedly has one of their units on a C8 already too. One problem is that the weak link (after the easily changed axles) is the trans which will only hold 590 ft lbs of torque. But even now there are new upgraded clutches out there hitting the market now. I don't know if any have been installed yet. Another huge roadblock is the tuning (or more accurately) lack thereof. The encryption on the C8 computer is exponentially harder to crack than all previous generations. GM really has this locked down tight! Still, this has not stopped a few people from going around it with piggyback supplemental electronic controllers.

It is all happening. The platform is still new and the supply has been bottle necked since even before it started getting built. Have patience, I think this year will be great for the C8 platform. Both aftermarket and hopefully the announcement and specs revealed for the Z06 for the upcoming 2022 model year.

Instead of a click bait video, this is a click bait thread. OP is clearly not paying attention.

Took quite some time for aftermarket to tune the new C7

The lack of aftermarket for the C8 as you say, pales in comparison to 1997 when the LS1 first came out in the C5, I had the first ATI D1SC in 2002 and there was no reliable tuning or fuel mods readily available unless you had your car at LPE, Mallet, and maybe one other than I'm forgetting....not until LS1edit came out and people started understanding how to use it. But from 97'-2000 it was basically NOS, Heads and Cam, 383/422cid, air filter, and a MAF translator or some mail order tune from a guy who claimed to have the GM tuning software. The C8 has way more stuff available and considering it has been made available or in the works the first year of production for the C8, plus in the midst of a pandemic. I would say move along as there is nothing to see here with your complaint.

What you should be hoping for is more competition in the market, that would be a better observation. Because then and only then will prices get lower for similar products. I mean there is a new cat back exhaust being touted that cost over $3K and results are less than 20 rwhp...not saying that isn't a good pickup in hp..but $3K+ for it.....it reminds me of when the 422cid for the C5 cost $20K (installed) and or the first C5 twin turbo was $40K (installed) that barely cracked 600rwhp. Maybe more competition in the market is what you meant? But for the first year production on a new platform (similar to the LS1 C5 in 1997), there is way more available from tuners and aftermarket for the C8 by comparison.

Don’t be hard on yourself. Google is your friend before posting such wild thoughts. Not to mention all the sources here.

I would like to see some nice full side skirts. The performance area is already taken care of IMO. Also like to see more options for coilovers and sway bars.
