I beg to differ. I have a 2021 Mazda CX-5 with the Soul Red Crystal Metallic paint and it's a very deep and stunning color.
My build is for the RM, but I'll want to see one in person before I finalize my order.
I completely agree. Looks to me like light Silver Flare & Red Mist are incremental, slight improvements (maybe) over the colors they replaced.
I haven’t seen pix of either new color that looks close to as good as GMs promotional pictures of SF & RM...even given the variable of lighting. Is it possible the promotional pictures were enhanced? If so...it’s tremendous antici-pointment lol....if I didn’t see the promo pictures I think these new colors would be just fine. Instead, I feel like they came up a little short.
Bytor, thanks so much!!! Our builds are very similar. You got the CF interior and I got the red seat belts instead. Otherwise they look the same. Hopefully I will make the January allocation. Any changes that you would make?

Would you mind detailing your specs? Did you do the suede steering wheel which also puts suede in other places? Can't tell for sure from the pics. Great looking car in any case. Congrats.
No matter what they do, they just can’t quite capture the magic of the original House of Kolor Kandy Apple paint job:
ironically, I think red mist is a direct copy of the candy apple from House of Colors.
my buddy was obsessed with Kandy Apple, and painted his race car that exact color.
I still think the best colors in order are Elkhart Lake blue, rapid blue, and Sebring Orange.
GM really needs to bring back LeMans blue, and a darker silver like the C8-R and Ferraris Grigio Titanio.

I think Red Mist has more bronze and orange tones in it whereas Kandy Apple has a bit more purple tones in it.
I can't decide if I like this color or not from just seeing pictures. I really like the way red mist looks in this one that was in a criswell delivery thread compared to the one below it that was posted in this thread. They look like different colors to me.
Sun/shade changes this color a lot. The cloudy day (Criswell picture), makes the car look darker. Long Beach Red and Crystal Red also look different when exposed to different lighting.

Totally agree, sometimes it has a faint orange/rust sheen and other times it's more red. Lighting and angle all effect the color. Pictures are a challenge with this color for sure and don't do it justice.....
I could not be more pleased with my choice of this color.
