Post #6 wins hands down. It's the easiest to spot from 10 or more feet away and from most angles.

I actually much prefer the cleaner roof on the 1LT without the camera here. Looks a lot better.

True, but the "camera mirror" is almost a safety necessity on the C8 coupe. Rear visibility is very bad with only the standard traditional rear view mirror.

Did the same on my 2020 1LT Coupe and now have a 2021 1LT HTC on order. Nothing wrong with 1LT has everything that I need!

2LT owner = thank goodness for this rear view camera, it is a lifesaver.

1LT owner = Huh?? visibility is just fine without the camera.

I never have and never will "speak as an authority" on the C8. However, certain things are blatantly obvious based upon seeing it, sitting in it, having owned similar platforms, and listening to owner and reviewer comments.

1LT C8. No rear view mirror camera is required IF side mirrors are adjusted correctly.

Gee, "Rear visibility is very bad with only the standard traditional rear view mirror." certainly sounds authoritative to me. That was a statement of fact, not "well, I haven't driven one, but it sure looks like it might not be great." If you actually attach a filter to the reviewer comments, overwhelmingly the ones that are such proponents are the ones that spent the $ on 2LT and 3LT. Almost all 1LT owners agree it's just fine.

Side-view mirrors
  • To adjust the driver’s side-view mirror, place your head against the left side window and set the mirror so you can just barely see the side of the car in the mirror’s right side.
  • To adjust the passenger’s side-view mirror, position your head so that it is just above the center console. Set the mirror so you can just barely see the side of the car in the left side of the mirror.
