Delivery tipping
Having my car delivered in Santa Fe shortly after Christmas, from MacMulkin in Nashua, NH. What is a decent tip for the guy making the delivery? Cost of delivery was $2,200. Any suggestions from others who have had cars delivered?

The delivery guy own the company or is he a worker. Owner is already getting a good price at about a $1 a mile. If he is a worker, I'd say $50

You are already paying 2200. Why would you need to tip? If you just like to tip then give him 100.

Oh no! Not the tipping suggestion question again. Hope this thread does not turn out like the Ron Fellows thread. In all seriousness if you were provided great service and they did a nice job, then I'm sure the driver would appreciate whatever amount tip that you give him.

The detailer at my dealership said he would use any products I supplied or their products whatever I choose so I tipped him $50 to do it my way and he did a great job...

If I remember correctly, Inter City drivers are owner operators and have a lot of money tied up in their equipment. They are still dispatched through the company and receive a "cents per mile" rate. They usually are hauling several cars at a time and are continually unloading and loading cars. I would think $100.00 would be plenty.

Maybe I misunderstood something. According to MacMulkin my car will be delivered straight to one of the courtesy dealers in the Houston area, no different than any other Vette going to that dealership. I don't think the car goes from Bowling Green to MacMulkin then to back to Houston. So, there's no charge for delivery.
Again, this is what I understood talking to Christina.
