Length of trailer
What length would be required to pull my C8 behind my diesel motor home? Are there States that limit the overall length of combined motor home & pull trailer?

For a number of years, we pulled a 28' enclosed behind a 38' Allegro Bus. We also pulled many times our old boat (33' Baja) overall length of boat on trailer was 40'. NEVER once was it ever questioned by law enforcement.
The real problem came when we were trying to stop at RV parks when traveling, due to the length most sites were too short and in some cases making the turns within the RV Parks was very tricky.
MY recommendation would be look at a '20 or '24 enclosed. The 24 would be my choice. Also when you are looking to purchase, get the extended tong, this is generally a minimum upgrade in cost. This will keep from the corner of your motorhome from running into the front of your trailer when you turn.
The 24; It gives you plenty of room for a car, but also a fair amount of storage in front of the car. Final thought, get at least the 5k Axels with 225/15 or even better yet the 235/16 tires. They just pull better and the tires last longer. This is a picture of my latest trailer, with all the upgrades it was $11K out the door. But you can get about a 1/3 less and still get a great trailer, it just wont have all the whistles and bells...

I've done my Vettes (C5, C7) and many others with my 16' TrailerWorld aluminum from... ... Bowling Green, no less. I'm not a fan of bigger than necessary for the job at hand. Do remember with many trailers you will need to back the C8 onto it for proper weight distribution. Whatever you decide, be safe.

65 ft. out west in several States = Calif. and Texas are a couple for towing a trailer with RV.

We did this for many years. 40 ft motorhome pulling a 26' enclosed trailer, plus tongue and hitch space. Overall length was around 72" Not legal in every state, but the cops tend to really forgive RV people and not pull them over. Never once were we pulled over.
