Thinking of ordering from a forum vendor
Those that have read my thread about my trials and tribulations from my Midwest dealer are aware of my frustration. To recap, I’ve been waiting for a year with a signed contract for first a 2020, then a 2021 C8. Now dealer wants to cancel contract, I do not, I’ll wait some more, not in a major rush.
I am thinking of getting in line with a larger east-coast (or other vendor dealer) and start again, but keeping my local order in place with very little chance of getting it.
My question now is if I get in line for a base C8, versus a waiting list for a Z06, which one would be more probable of getting soonest? Base has more people waiting, (though being currently built, I probably won’t see until 2022?); the Z has a shorter list but won’t come out until 2022.
Maybe order a Z from out state and keep my base order local?
Your input is appreciated.

Go with MacMulkin and you'll get a 2021. Email Tom (Tommy) Thompson J.R. at MacMulkin. He'll get the whole Corvette team in the loop. tommyjr@thompsonauto.net.

Kerbeck filled every 2020 order, not one was moved to 2021. If they take your order, and you finalize your order, you will get a 2021.
They will have the most allocations of any dealer as they have for the past 25 years.

My last vette before the C8 3lt Z51 loaded out was a 2015 Z06 3LZ.
I loved everything about the C8 but after coming form 650hp it just didn't have it.
I didn't plan on selling it. I even spent almost 6K on aftermarket wheels, eng cover et.
I put 4K miles on it and local guy gave me 15K over my taxes wheels, etc.
( have a post on here where someone whispered in my ear. I was at BG when, I told this person I had ordered a loaded C8. they said " imagine your car being worth more then you paid for it"! Folks on here laughed. I didn't say at the time who said it to me. It was Tadge!
I've been on the list at MacMulkin for Z06 for awhile.Probalby around number 60.
So, I'd say if you think your going to get a Z, I would just get on that list.
It's going to be incredible!

I'm on the MacMulkin Z06 list. Put my deposit down the same day I paid for my C8, 9/22. I am around #230 on their list. I think they are over 300 now and I not sure if they will get that many the first year which of now we don't know when the first year will be. I say put your name on both lists. Get your C8 within the year, could be several years before you get a Z06.

I would think at MM you could get a C8 much earlier than a Z06. For the C8, I'm guessing you could get the car late 2021. For the Z06, the speculation is that it will be announced mid year as a 2022 model. You may have missed the first year allocation for the Z06 as the list is long already, so you probably would not get one until 2023 (again, I'm guessing).
If you are not sure what your want, why not get on both lists? You can decide later once the Z06 had been announced.

Anyone have an email for MacMulkin’s Corvette sales staff? I tried the above given tommyjr@thompsonauto.net
with no luck. I did write my request via their website, but not sure who gets that, I would prefer emailing someone directly.
Thanks again.

Dont know where " Out there" is, but if you are around central Ohio I would at least call Rick Conti at Coughlin Chevrolet in Pataskala, Ohio. #7 I believe in volume. I and a friend both have orders in for a 2021, so far, so good.

Sam Kelly at Kerbeck. Have purchased two previously and my 2021 will be my third. Always responsive, knowledgeable and professional.

I liked that about them, the whole team knows what’s going on. I emailed Vanessa a question after she left the dealership and I got the auto-response message that she had left, but Christina also immediately answered my question. They have been great to work with.

No one knows for sure the Z will be a 2022 model. That's an additional risk. Seems to me the 22s are less then a year out. If GM is killing it with stingrays why would they not wait until 23 to bring out the Z?
Honestly I'd think by next summer there will be c8s used at a tolerable price.
