Default My biggest C8 complaint

Keeping the windshield streak free. The build up if film from the dash is relentless. I have a difficult time keeping it 100% streak free. Drives me nuts!

I have no problem with interior of windshield having a film of any type build up on it. May be because my interior is natural dip Leather. Also interior was ceramic coated, an inside of windshield was coated as well as outside. That may help.

Other cars I have, interior windshield glass has that problem.

I can see, cleaning inside of Windshield that has that much slant, with it's width would be a real pain to clean.

PS: C8 sits outside all the time.

Oh, thank god.... I was afraid you worried that the car accelerated too fast....

Just remember that cleaning the inside of a Corvette windshield is equivalent to 1/2 hour of Yoga, so keep it squeaky-clean, and treat yourself to a nice malty one, guilt-free...

Im at 2300 miles. I daily this thing.
Ast night i took my 25 year old severely handicapped kid up and around bear mountain and it had rained yesterday morning. I love this car. Its fabulous especially in using all the differnet modes..im ******* z mode..

but today in NY its 60 degrees and sunny so I washed the car..i ceramic 3 in 1 griots waxed it..i ceramic detailed the wheels...and just finished the windows...i only did the outside...and I was just literally just saying to myself how I hate doing windows...

i find the rear window a bigger pain than the front window..

what I want to know is can you fully darken the 8 inch or 10 inch computer screen at night..and if you know how feel free to share here..

fabulous car...with very impressive performance.

my fourth new corvette as a daily

These work well on my steeply slanted windshields. They do a great job of getting to those impossible to reach corners and where windshield meets dash.

That looks useful.... also, good glass cleaner is critical.... I use Invisible Glass, as its is readily available but the Wurth cleaner is the bomb... but you probably need to order it... Windex sucks so bad.... if you are hard core cheap, just use diluted Amonia, but its nasty....

Also, taking the targa top off makes it a lot easier, plus you can clean all that gunk that collects around the seals....

This my experience with window cleaning to a "T".
Windex is absolutely the worst, a wipe down with plain old news paper will do a better job.
I get excellent results with Invisible Glass and have heard that Wurth is great stuff.
Amonia water is awesome on our floor to 9' ceiling wall of windows in our condo. I have found nothing else that will clean that salty crap that comes along with a sea breeze and yes it is pretty nasty especially in higher concentrations.
I also use a cleaning wand like the one Foosh linked to, they are great. First time I've seen him right about anything.

Isopropyl alcohol works better than anything else I've found for removing off gas film from the inside of windshields. Commercial window cleaners like Windex seem to only move the off gas film slime around. Of course alcohol and ammonia based window cleaners shouldn't be used to clean aftermarket window tint film.

They work great and best with plain distilled water or plain water with a teaspoon of white vinegar, even on tinted windows.

I worked as a detailer in college and we used a white vinegar water solution and newspaper. I still use this to this day, newspaper is awesome at keeping your windows streak free.

What's a newspaper? Actually great advice.

My "trick" is to use a clean, very damp face rag, spray Invisible Glass on it liberally, and wipe half the windshield at a time, followed-up immediately with a clean cloth hand towel to wipe down and dry. No streaks! Repeat for all other windows.

I don't have my C8 yet, but I shudder at trying to keep the coupe rear window clean.

I thought you were going to say the terrible paint, the brake dust, the brake dust getting sucked into the side scoops and then deposited in the engine compartment, and then the brake dust getting rained on in the engine compartment making asbestos mud, or the terrible video mirror, the volume k n o b that's behind the wiper stalk that you activate every time you reach for it, or the pointy tips on the doors that are impossible to gauge forcing you to kick the sh*t out of your inside panels because you're afraid to open your door all the way because you're 90% sure you're going to hit the car next to it. Or that you can't tune it. Or that it takes 3 days to detail after it gets wet, all of the glass in the middle is impossible to reach and cleaning the wheels gives you carpal tunnel syndrome. Or the C8 bringing out the absolute worst behavior in almost every GM dealer with an allocation. Or the general looming fear one of the common problems is going to strike and you're going to be forced to take it to your local shoddy GM service center so they can leave it out in the rain after you've just cleaned it and some fat, sweaty, smoking communist can try to wrestle his girth over the fenders to reach the engine while a car salesman vlogs about it. Or the endless stream of C8 vloggers who think they can drive and that their worthless, generic opinions matter.

If you wanna keep your glass streak free clean it with bottled water and a new microfiber. Easy peasy.
