Love my C8 , but hate the road noise< NOT hate but bothered by
Well been driving my C8 2lt for about one month. I really love the car ! My only complaint is the amount of loud road noise . at low speed it is bad but to me at high speed above 70 its really bothersome .This is the first corvette I have owned other then a 1962 so I have nothing to compare it to. However the interior road noise is much louder then my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee and very much louder then my e350 Mercedes. I am wondering if this is normal or I have a problem ? Thinking maybe the bose noise cancelling is not working correctly or I am missing some sound deadening ? Or this normal but I would hope not. I have looked through this forum and could not find others with this concern so any advise would be great !
Thanks in advance

I hear Lexus has upped their game.

Buy a Mercedes S-class or a Lexus. The C8 coupe is far and away the quietest Corvette made. If you feel the NVH is objectionable then it’s not the platform for you.

I was at an event with a C5 shod with Hoosier A6's and I found myself needing some gas, so I drove to a nearby gas station. I was a little shocked at how noisy it was because I normally drove the car wearing a helmet. You could experiment with other tires or maybe add sound insulation, but I would try just wearing earplugs. That would be the most cost effective by far. A lot, if not most light airplane pilots use them, sports shooters use them. Nobody will even notice, probably.

I felt the same way for a week or two after receiving the car. FWIW the car was far noisier driving across the eastern/southern states than it seems to be here in CA. I probably have just gotten used to it. After auto-crossing the car a couple times I have to say the noise is a fraction of what you would get in a comparable autocross car. Do you wear hearing aids? I do and a noise cancelling program does wonders.
I am in love with the car

many a jasper on this forum are flippant with their anonymous replies - sorry for them.
you can always add more sound insulation. Wont be an easy task but a quality interior shop can do this for you. As said, this is a side effect of most true sports / super cars

Are the non Z51 all season tires any quieter than the Z51 summer tires? I don’t know the answer, but that might be something to try if they are and you have summer tires now.

Before I got my C8 in my hands, all the reviews I read is was "How Quite, road noise wise it was." I found the sound level to be above what I expected, but it wasn't all that bad. Found that now, I don't really "hear it anymore". Guess you could say I've been able to tune it out. Same be could said about "Natural Dipped Leather Interior windshield "Glare". At 1st I was using Glare Reduction Sun Glasses to reduce interiors Glare on the Windshield, past two weeks I started driving without using Sun Glasses, and found now I don't really notice it at all except went driving in an area were the sun's reflection on the windshield is broken up by Trees. I notice it then, because the the Trees shade the Sun making the Glare go from no Glare right back to glare Vs it being Constant normally. Just a matter of tuning things out.
As of a little over two weeks ago, I removed the Summer Tires and stock wheels, an replaced them with aftermarket wheels with Michelin "All Season" tires. There is less road noise, than with the Summer Tires, but not by much. The ride quality is a little better also.
Road noise really doesn't effect me. Maybe because I never owned a "Luxury Car". At least so far the Tires don't sing on some section of interstate pavement, like my prior Daily Driver car's did...LOL
Learn to not "fixate" on noise, or "Dump the C8 ".

According to Car and Driver,
Extensive acoustic insulation has made the C8 not only quieter by three decibels at 70 mph than the C7, but just plain quiet.

Sound insulation adds lots of weight. Corvette is designed primarily as a sports car, with weight reduction a priority. I haven't checked, but someone like Crazy Cowboy on the forum will come out with (or may already have) an insulation/sound deadening kit you can install. He has kits for C4 through C7.
