Default What interest rate did you receive from GM ?

What interest rate did you receive from GM for your new C8 ? What were the terms ?

I have a credit score of 800+, and hoping they're offering something good in a couple weeks when I sit down with the Finance guy at the dealership when my new C8 arrives

Any insight would be helpful. Thanks

Very doubtful GM Financial will come close to bank or credit union rates.

F&I has no incentive to offer you a great rate. The guy (gal) makes a commision, as does the dealership on in house financing. With a continuous waiting list of buyers, why would they give you credit union rates ?

2.49% at the dealer from Capital One. They matched my CU. GM Financial was 5.99 or something silly.

So it sounds like I should just do the financials before even going to pick up the car...

Anyone know of institutions with great rates on new cars I could contact ? Better than 2.49 % ??

P.S. Can I get financed ahead of time when I receive my VIN ??

YES... many cars, but I've never been in a situation like this before with an amazing credit score.. It's been decent in the past (700's), but not hovering around 850 like it has been.

Odds are a Credit Union is your best bet and probably at least 1 percent less than GM Financing. BTW. I was ready to buy a used C6 from out of state, but the owner was financed through GM and he could not produce the title until he paid off the car. GM Financing was in California so the soonest he could get the title after paying off car was around 14 days. That was a deal killer for me.

Our CU in Indiana is 1.74% and the bank is 2.7. The dealer couldn't come near the CU. I usually give them a shot but am prepared prior to finance elsewhere. Interesting that GM sent me a letter saying they could not approve my loan.

Approved at 2.24% for 72 months with Bank of America - includes a Preferred customer discount of 35 basis points. I plan to have that in my pocket and see if F&I office can beat or at least match it.

I looked on Navy CU site, but it seems you need to be military (Active or discharged) or in family of same, with an already existing account - do I have that right?

It's about the APR %, not the interest rate. Fees matter.

GM finance will run about 6.5% if you have over an 800 score. Less than 800 score, rate will be over 6.5%

800+ Credit options were:

1. GM at 3.99%
2. CU at 1.89%
3. Cut a check
