C8 vs Tesla Model Y for those that care
Not sure if it was posted yet so apologize if it has been. Personally I would take the C8 HTC no matter how fast the Model Y is unless I needed SUV levels of storage and a 4 seater. It does go to show that the Corvette will need to have some form of electric power train in the future to stay relevant.

I know most won’t care either about this but I liked the video. I just got a Model 3 Performance and it is very quick took it to the 1/4 mile track and surprised me. I also have C8 on order with a TPW of 11/30. I love all kinds of cars and I’m super excited to get my C8. Will be a close race with the C8 and the Model 3 Performance but I believe the C8 will take it. Can’t wait to get them both on the track together. I will be very interested in the E ray which will bring a electric motor to the front of the C8. Great times

I don't think the "too stay relevant" argument holds any water. I would argue the Corvette risks remaining relevant to owners if it becomes a different type of machine.
Additionally, from an environmental point of view heavily based on mathematics and known physical laws, the electric car simply will be THE WORST environmental choice.
I don't feel that that Corvette needs to be "relevant" to a TESLA. At some point one hopes the environmental damage needed to create just ONE of them would be publicized.

Well. Tesla being worth 5x what GM and Ford are today... combined... would definitely make some think otherwise.
They both waited waaay too long to get into serious EV design.
As for a model 3 performance vs a C8? Can't wait to see what you get out of both. I also have a model 3 performance on order after the refresh. Did it last night.
These Tesla's are addicting. Bring on the E ray.

Interesting choice of words considering the other well known substances that are "addicting" and ultimately hostile to life.
And as a bonus it looks like a customized 88 Taurus, so you probably have to be "high" to believe it looks good.

yeah well for that Tesla idk how it ran as slow as it did. Not affected by altitude. Seems more like driver skill or lack thereof. That model Y performance runs 3.5's on a dragy and by tesla's own testing and even faster by other publications. But low and behold TFL ol man gets a solid 3.99 or whatever ha. The C8 would be a little faster if a coupe as well as being hampered by altitude.

Seriously??? A mid-engine sports car vs. a family sedan? Not even close. And since Ford blew it by replacing a Mustang with an electric SUV, if GM does anything like this they will met the same fate, loss of the majority of loyal long time customers.

The last step to change is acceptance.. i did it.. and I am telling you it is not even close to bad. It's invigorating.

Electrics can approach zero-carbon but the vehicle needs to charge from a non-carbon source such as an owner's home, using the owner's solar panel array. And those rare-earth batteries need to be designed to be efficiently recyclable.

If and that’s a big if they lose any customers when the C8 goes to a hybrid and the C9 goes all electric some will jump ship but more people will accept it and jump into the EV world. Most people don’t like EV’s until they drive them. I was one of them. Didn’t pay much attention to them until I drove one. I was hooked. Like C7Z said it’s a whole different experience driving an EV and a great one. Especially if you like speed which is just another plus of owning one.

I have the dual motor ETron, hate to say it, but it's definitely the future. We have the matching Q8 and it hasn't been driven since we picked up the ETron. Don't care which is actually better for the environment, but the electrics are already superior vehicles. I've got my spot for the tri-motor Cybertruck and can't wait. It's not just that they're fast, but so smooth and fun to drive. Royalty has a YouTube video of them racing their Veyron against a Taycan Turbo. Of course they never got to top speed, buy Taycan gapped the Veyron effortlessly in the short races that won't land you in jail.

I drove a model S raven and rode in a Taycan Turbo. Both are insane. Like a slingshot. Imagine that kind of power and traction in a 4-500lbs lighter corvette? I can't wait.
