First time removing roof
And it was a bear. I have the transparent roof and it weighs a lot more than I thought. Then I tried to put the roof back on. That really was hard to do. I attribute it to the new weatherstripping but I know the roof stays on from now on.

Or you could start doing weights . Me personally, I would just leave the roof in. But since my wife put the deposit down on the car, and she has always wanted a convertible, we are getting an HTC. It is the best of both worlds, she gets the open top motoring she wants and I don't have to work out!

2020 C8 of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
I think the transparent one is much heavier.
A lot of this is about leverage. With a bit of practice it can be a bit easier but to be honest, I think targas are better off removed with 2 people to avoid a mishap.

I had a C7 Z06, and now the C8 w dual carbon fiber roof and transparent roofs . I think the transparent is the lightest of the group.
Dimensions are very similar.
I have noticed the roof rattles a lot on the C8, needs to be adjusted

"14 lbs - Carbon Fiber Top
15.5 lbs - Body Color Painted Top
17 lbs - Transparent Top
For comparison, the C7 Carbon Fiber Top weighs in at 16 lbs."

Yes, it can be cumbersome, especially for a small person. So, why not simply get someone to help, since most don't seem to remove and install it all that often?

took a little getting used to
I have the transparent and it takes a little getting used to. I'm always cautious when locking the top down or unlocking in the trunk area. The amount of push or pull, to lock in or unlock, causes some trepidation so as not to damage anything. I will engage assistance if available but have now removed and replaced the top 10+ times and so far so good.
