Default Took delivery today but....It had to go back already

Drove the car about 20 miles then the check engine light came, started shaking really bad. Took it to the dealer and they say cylinder 5 is misfiring. I hope it isnt anything serious and I can get it back soon. The day went from yay to s**t really fast.

Well said! I'm fairly new to the Corvette lifestyle and obviously to the forum as well but I'm familiar with how ugly social media can be. I'm just very thankful for the insight that was related to my issue and I currently feel that my Vette is in good hands and I hope to be back behind the wheel sooner rather than later!

Oh man that stinks. Wait so long and I know how excited you must have been to finally get it. I hope it's something they can fix with an update or something without having to do real work on the engine. I just got mine last weekend and so far so good (think i'm at 106 miles) There's been a fair share of problems with ppl's rides so hope for the best. Good luck!

This happened on some of the early C7s, and it was typically just a bad or loose spark plug.

Plug, wire, or coil, all easy access from underneath. Should be fixed in short order.

As long as they can safely put it on the lift....

Seriously I hope you get it back soon!

I will not sign papers until I have tested the car on the road. Did this with my last two new cars.

They just delivered a loaner, still do not know what is wrong with it. Can I refuse it? I mean who wants to buy a car that expensive and have it break down with less than 30 miles on the odometer

See what's wrong first. Could be simple. Even if it's not, there is a warranty and it'll get fixed. Just bad luck.

look into local laws and dealer policy. Some will let you return the car within a certain timeframe and mileage.

But it first let the dealer troubleshoot. It could be something simple. If it needs a new engine then that is another story.

Don't panic - I had an issue with my 1980 truck when new- 60 miles , Alt and Water pump issue - dealer had to replace items... it now has 480k miles and I have it 41 years = been the best truck I ever had.

hope it's an easy fix ,,,,

Some dealers have a "right to return policy" for a limited time, usually on used cars, and in one State you can buy a return policy on a used car. There is no State that has a law allowing the return of a new car under normal circumstances. A warranty problem would be normal circumstances.

I feel your pain. It sucks, but just let them repair it and move on. I took delivery in March and mine was in the dealership for 2 repairs and out for a total of 3 weeks within the first 600 miles. It sucked. But I’m now at 4,000 mi with zero additional problems. This is why there is a warranty, use it!

Thanks. I know of several dealers that I have bought from that have a new car guarantee return policy. It was like 7-10 days and a certain mileage. I actually used it once at Morries in Minnesota. Bought a car. Returned it two days later with zero hassle. Just gotta find the good dealers who put customers first.
https://www.morries.com/buy-happy-terms-conditions/

The Chevy dealer in Mass where I have bought two vehicles from have a similar policy

Get it fixed and if that really bothers you then flip it for a profit 👍

not this again.... Lol..... Yeah I read that thread! Maybe this time it is a plug wire not torqued on to spark plug tight enough!

Seems like EVERYDAY something happens to these cars. Maybe waiting 2 years from now is the best thing to do

I had two C5s. The first was four years into the run of C5s and I had several problems with it. I had four C6s. Two of them were first year cars and they had zero problems. Then I had one three years into the model run that had several problems.

Corvettes don't seem to favor cars after the first year or two
