lol the dig monkey 🐒 got smoked bad , let’s me hear all the excuses haha. But ... but ...but the 911 costs way more , of course be cause it’s superior , let’s face it this is a battle that corvette will never win . Porsche will always a step or 2 ahead 😂

100% settled in my mind. It is also mentioned in the video that we are not dealing with 443hp other than WHP possibly. Sport auto deserves my apology for doubting their test. The real story here is the 992 generation Porsche has turned up the dial on outright performance AND BOOST over the C8. This is pretty eye opening that Porsche is giving such performance for just the Carrera S. I accept these results and i expect the Z06 will have all it can handle vs the upcoming GT3 and GT3RS. The C8 is STILL THE DEAL OF THE DECADE by leaps and bounds without a TURBO MOTOR.

You sound like your in your early teens. Someone will always be faster. I still prefer American muscle over Porsche.

and you sound like you’re an elderly man that will always buy corvette no matter what 😂 . People need to open up and try out new things once in awhile

I thought the race would have been closer or in the C8’s favor, but at second thought the outcome makes sense. The C8 may have more peak power and torque, but the turbocharged 992 has a broader/flatter torque curve, and torque is what gets you accelerating. Of course, there are trade offs to turbos, such as reduced throttle response and a muted engine sound. I’m also wondering if the track was at elevation, which would affect the naturally aspirated C8’s power output.

[QUOTE=John913kk;1602152357]LOL no not even close. You have no idea what I own. I do own more then Vettes however you are just trying to stir things up. Easy to see, have been a member for a week with a few dozen posts and they are all the same. Go troll your Xbox friends and leave the car stuff to the big boys.

Both the Toy and Porsche have under-rated engines. not sure why the Germans have been doing that recently but they have been. Toy suffers from engine 'in the wrong place' for launching, otherwise it would be closer. P-cars are impressive! and expensive! vette is a helluva deal - remember this is the first year with the base engine... Looking forward to what comes next!

[QUOTE=John913kk;1602152501]No one said the C8 would be faster, the Porsche is an amazing car, I think most car guys already know what the Porsche is capable of. However like I said before all you do is post negative things about the Corvette. You made a profile to be an antagonist, thats your only mission here. Good luck.

Every turbo car these days has more power than what the manufacturer says. They can say whatever they want on the spec sheet, but real world results (not just Porsches either) always have turbo cars going above and beyond. This is Corvette's first attempt at the mid engine thing, and possibly last before the next gen goes electric. Porsche has been doing this **** for awhile and have perfected it. I wasn't a real believer until I actually saw a 911 launch. On a decent surface you wouldn't be able to tell if it was awd or rwd.
C8 is still a beast, and the high performance C8 variants to come still have a large amount of potential. I can't wait to see the C8Z vs the current gen of supercars...though it certainly has its work cut out for it. The Huracan Evo, F8, 992 Turbo S, 720s are all stupid fast cars that can nearly get 9s in the quarter.
