I thought only the black GM covers were recalled.

As many have written here before, the car cover sometimes causes more harm than benefits. The snug ones may scratch the surface if you out it on after driving. Most are only useful just after a wash to keep the dust off in the garage between drives. I used a similar one to this one from Amazon. It doesn't fit snug so as not to scratch your paint. But I never put it on after driving only after I've just washed the car to keep it clean. Good Luck in your search

I like looking at my Corvette in the garage when I walk past it. No way would I cover it up. And if it gets a little dusty, it's an excuse to take it out for a drive to blow the dust off of it.

I had the black and grey Z06 inside cover for my C7 and it worked fine. If the black one I ordered does not show up due to recall I'll see about ordering the C8R version as well.

Like others have mentioned. Car covers should only go on a car that has just been washed and is squeaky clean. No good taking cover off and going for a drive and then putting cover back on. Before you put the cover back onto car after driving it you need to wash the car to get rid off all the dust particles, sand etc... Otherwise, you will scratch the paint way more with the cover over it than no cover. Also, if you put the cover over a dirty car then your cover will be contaminated so will need to be thoroughly cleaned before you use it again. I see no point.

Exactly why a cover would be needed. If you need to store it for long periods of time, then a cover really does come in handy to keep the car spotless when it's seasonable to drive again after a long slumber.
I live in S. Florida and a cover is completely useless for me. My C8 will be garage kept and will never need to be in storage, so there's no need. Ceramic Pro the car, and drive it fast...dust will come off, lol.

Accidents will happen, having an extra layer of protection never hurts. I got small kids, I live in dread of them rubbing their bike's rubber handle bar against my car someday.

I am am personally having a hard time paying $3-400 on a good indoor satin stretch cover, since my C7 one was under $200. Ill get over it and buy one soon.

Dust cover indoors does not have to be form fitting. I bought two inexpensive jersey bed sheets (super soft like undershirt material) and cover my cars with them. Wife sewed two together to make it easier on and off. Total cost $18.
