So the B team gets to finish the performance variants of the C8?

This isn't as dramatic as it's made to seem in the article. For now it is primarily an organizational change with a few personnel changes so the entire team is not being reassigned to other work. Check out this InsideEVs article:
In practical terms, the shift will see Tadge Juechter stay on as the Executive Chief Engineer for Global Corvette. He has been involved with the Corvette program for its past three generations. Ed Piatek, the Corvette Chief Engineer will have a new role and title: Chief Engineer - Future Product. Finally, Josh Holder is being named Chief Engineer for Global Corvette, taking Piatek's place.

Updated the article. GM called us to clarify that "the same team that’s already working on the Corvette will finish all current projects. Presumably, this means the Z06 and ZR1 and any other crazy edition we know is coming. It’s just that the Corvette team is ALSO working under this new direction."

I completely understand where you're coming from, but have you ever raced a Tesla? The performance is OUTSTANDING.

OTOH, the E-Ray will be much faster and cheaper to build once battery costs are reduced. No oil changes either.

Are you trying to say Government Motors has a direct line to a guy sleeping in his basement waiting for ground hog day? (NOV 3)

From a stoplight maybe. I was able to reel them in on the highway in my C5 once we pass 100, no problem. Not interested in an all-electric hotrod. Hybrid, on the other hand...

I think we're gonna see a hybrid long before all-electric. The question, to me at least, is will it be the Z06 or ZR1 where it debuts. OR, will it be like Ford's new PowerBoost feature where it's available on multiple trim levels? Time will tell.
