Frunk recall is released!!!
My car has been at the dealer since last Wednesday. My dealer let my detail guy pick up the car in his enclosed trailer and take it to his shop for paint correction, PPF, Ceramic window tint, and Ceramic coating! Best ay to spend the 5 days. When I was there at 5pm tonight the sales manager told me to pick up my car tomorrow, as they just released the recall update! Can’t wait, car looks awesome though! They just have to put the Z51 front splitter on and do the update.

Yep! downloaded the OTA update today in my garage on our home wifi. It took 5 minutes.to complete and install. Thanks GM . no dealer necessary, which is great .

Just did mine too... no issues. I really like being able to do this on my own using using this functionality instead of going to the dealer to get these updates.

Banned Scam/Spammer
Hopefully this means that the GM haters along with the engineering experts who thought this was the end of the world for the C8 can STFU. I'm sure we will still have to endure some ongoing dissertations from the know it alls about how GM has no idea what they are doing and how they should copy Porsche, Blah, Blah, Blah.

Great news! I truly hope there will be no more flying frunks.
I am interested in learning more about what the update actually did other than change the way the fob operates and change the warning speed from 84 mph to 26 mph.

Nice fix when trying to drive w Frunk open
I did the OTA frunk update. If you now try to drive the car with frunk open the car is hard to accelerate feels like no torque or emergency brake is on. Getting to 28mph would be a challenge and highly noticeable to the driver!

Interesting . . . so can others confirm that if you lay the hood down, get distracted and forget to push to latch, and then drive away with an unlatched hood that the the software limits power? If so, that's great.
The major bone of contention here is that it's not possible to lay the hood down on other ME frunks and not have the safety latch engaged even with the primary unlatched. If the C8 with update simply won't allow you to accelerate quickly or exceed 26 mph, that probably takes care of it.

I checked. My C8 Infotainment Updates Function still DOES NOT show the latest FOB recall as having been applied, but it apparently was. Starting your car too soon (within a few minutes of update completion) will mess up the Update logging into the "system". Overnight made no difference. Checking on the GM recall website, shows that no Recalls are available for my VIN. Apparently, GM's lack of communication extends to the OTAU function.
So go ahead and be a lover. I just see the raw facts and come to a completely different conclusion. This situation appears to mimic the real world politics. Even disagreeing has become tribal.

Following is my update to my OTAU for the Recall application. This OTAU roll-out and probably every one following will be a disaster. With all of these errors in its application when they control everything and it does not go RIGHT is the epitome of being unprofessional. Even Microsoft with all of its problems knows how to apply updates, even if they get interrupted by turning off in the middle.

Why Corvette should be spun out as its own GM division
Yet another reason why Corvette should be spun off. It needs to be unbundled from Chevy and GM’s inability to modernize communications to customers on the build status of the car as C8J demonstrated was not hard to execute and provided a huge value ad! I would also hope that Corvette as a division would be able to provide updates that work for all. Though mine worked fine. Anyway, it will happen just a matter of when. Mary Barra has to get the stock to move up! Perhaps as a separate division and a C8 with a E-Ray version would propel the price higher? Look at Tesla up 400% just this year alone! This division should also inherit the Camaro to save that car from the rumored 2023 extinction. Having two amazing sports cars with a two seat option and a four seat option would not be terrible (think ZL1 track times) Throw in a high end SUV and all three offering models offering electric variants and wow! Tesla who?
