Default First issue with my c8

Close to 1700 miles and out of nowhere while regular driving my rear view mirror decided to quit on me. Every time I turn the car off and on the mirror will work for a couple of seconds and then back to blue/black screen they alternate. Any ideas of what could it be? Should I make an appointment with a Chevy dealer? Thanks

Could be anything... just hope someone at the dealer can contact someone at GM who has a clue. Since it is a safety issue it might get some attention. Good luck!

Is it a mirror or a camera?

‘Try rocking the switch under the mirror back and forth a few times. Maybe it wasn’t set in one position.

tried that several times, it’s a pretty solid piece so I don’t see how can something be loose.

Of course you should take it into the dealer. Why would you not? That is exactly what the warranty is for. Good luck. Hope it is a quick fix for them. Definitely let us know how it goes and what they end up doing to fix it. Hopefully it does not become a common issue across the platform.

I was looking more for a easy fix or someone who ran into the same issue and found a solution. But well it’s time to start looking for a decent Service department dealer in South Florida. If anyone knows one let me know thanks

south florida is big geography. might help if you picked a city/town where you reside. then people can give you a recommendation, even if it's a couple towns away from you. good luck.

used to be that some glitches could be fixed by disconnecting the battery cable for about 10 minutes and then reconnecting. not sure that will work with this model.

So I contacted Greico Chevrolet ft lauderdale because I heard only good thing about a technician named John over there, so I made an appointment with him Monday morning. But I’m going to try disconnecting the battery also and see if that works. Thanks

And this makes any sense how???? So there is a banner on the car as it comes down the line saying use the "good" parts on this one because it's going to a dealer that charges ADM??? It only means you paid too much, that's all.

‘I’m sure you already know, disconnecting the battery might reboot the system and you might lose your personal settings. Sometimes rebooting needs to be done more than once.
