If scarcity is the measure of being elite, how about a DMC-12 or Civic Type-R? They were/are made in lesser quantities than the C8 and therefore more scarce.
At the end of the day, the C8 is not a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Pagani, etc. It's a Chevrolet - plain and simple. As much as we love them, they're still domestic cars produced for a massive audience.

You better think about the C8s status again in the world of sports cars. The package looks more competitive than Ferraris new Roma that cost over a quarter of a million. The problem with the C8 is it isnt a world offer. Its still the hottest sports car out there bar none.

It's still a budget priced, dependable, high performance, 2-seater sports car. You get a lot of bang for the dollar, and it's got relatively good/great resale, even aside the crisis which drove used prices Up several tens of thousands of dollars. Elite? Yeah, it's always been pricey for a two seater, but you're going to have to have the money if you want one. Just put your order in.

Exotic cars are usually for the elite. That doesn't mean other high-end cars such as Corvette, Mercedes, Jaguar, Porsche, BMW, etc are not owned by elites as well. For the most part, the cars mentioned are tailored for the upper middle class and higher. But in certain parts of the country where housing is so cheap, someone that is middle class can also afford these cars if they stretch themselves out and also with the advent of leases, these cars are more attainable as well.

Anyone who pays Dealer jacked-up price for a hard to obtain “First year model” of ANYTHING is going to get hosed on the resale value. Best to wait for all the recalls and updates on the next years improved one.

Average price of new American pickup truck is now just under $52,000. Trucks must be in the "elite" vehicle category then. And that $52K is before you spend $2.5K minimum on a set of 35's.
