How much heavier the C8 Z06 will be?
C7 Z06 already has a curb weight just over 3520 pounds. Usually it's about 130 pounds more than the Stingray. Will it be the same with C8 as well? 130 pounds more than C8 Stingray would be nearly 3750 pounds. What do you guys think?

Most here will think in pounds.
1600 kilos=3520lbs
1700 kilos=3740lbs

I guess a lot depends on if they really go NA FPC or if it ends up being TT FPC.

I agree, the C6Z was about 150# lighter than the Stingray and nearly 200# lighter than the supercharged ZR1. A good portion of that was in the aluminum frame vs the Stingray steel frame. They won't have that to play with on the C8 though.

I'm guessing 90 lb heavier if it winds up being FI. Braking system will likely also weigh more, though that may be offset by CF wheels if that becomes a thing.

Correct, C6Z lost all that weight because of the change from a steel to aluminum frame. There is no comparable magic bullet for weight loss in C8 other than stripping down to a bare bones car. That ain't happening.

Dohc engine will be plenty heavier add turbos and that support system?
NA car will be 100lbs more.
TT car will be 160lbs more.

yeah as they try to figure why the fpc keeps exploding. Let them get it all worked out.. I still won't be a buyer until year 2 or 3 of it.. went down this road with corvette once before. Learned lesson.. and happier for it

Does anyone know if Cosworth is involved with the Z06 engine development? I know they worked on Cadillac's Blackwing DOHC TT V8, but I haven't seen any evidence of them working on the C8. If they're involved the engine may be lighter and more reliable than most people are predicting.

My biggest concern since I plan to keep this one for the long hall. Want a 2nd year but logic tells me to wait for the 3rd year. The FPC has me equally excited and nervous.

Correction: The lightweighting philosophy/ethos started with the C5Z (titanium exhaust, lighter body, thinner glass, lighter wheels made in Italy, aluminum suspension components, non-EMT tires, reduced sound proofing, fixed rear radio aerial, lighter battery, etc.). The C6Z continued it.
