EXACTLY this. I took the body colored accents OFF my order. If I could get JUST the sides for like $495 from the factory, then it would have been YES

The black boomerang is a huge focal point of the car; much more so than the rear vents, which I really don't mind in body color. $995 does seem high, but no worse than $600 for a different color caliper, or $995 for a racing stripe sticker.

Normally I don't care about blocking license plates in photos, but this was the dealership plate and don't feel like plugging them.

Agree on black looking just fine without extra money on body colored accents. I’d also say standard wheels look great with the black body.

I sure wish there was an option to do just the side....I would gladly pay for it.....I just don't care for the back vents to be body color...needs that contrast back there.

I mentioned this earlier, but it does not cost anything to drive the car to a respected body shop and ask how much it would cost to paint the boomerangs body color. I bet you will be surprised how little it costs....

Has anyone ever walked out of a body shop, when paint is involved, for less than $1000?

I went to my local body paint shop a while back to get an estimate to paint the white center stripe on my GS....the $750 Heritage option from the factory. They wanted $2,500....hilarious....I suspect they would charge more than $995 and not even do the other accent pieces...lol

I've given this quite a bit of thought as I prepare to order mine, and first I want to say there are no wrong answers, every C8 is stone cold awesome. That said, to me the body color accents can in some cases make it look a bit like a model car, "molded in color" if you will.
On the front pieces, I see what some people mean about visually adding length, but to me they visually shrink the cooling openings and I'm not liking that. I want it to look like it's gulping as much air as possible.
The rear grilles I think need to be black for contrast. As for the side boomerangs, on my build I feel like the darker color actually accentuates the "mid-engineness" of the car - that is what I love about the C8 so I don't want to minimize that aspect but rather celebrate it!

All JMHO but there you have it. My analysis is worth every cent I charged you for it

That said, there are 2 cars in this thread that look incredible to me and those are the elkhart blue and the torch red with the aftermarket wheels - WOW those 2 really knock my socks off. I won't do red myself because I already have too many red vehicles, and I won't do blue because my other main sports car is very close to that color, but man do they look sweet.

Here is what mine will most likely be---------

(2LT with MagRide, Performance Exhaust, red engine cover and engine dress-up)

To me the body color accents finish the clean look of the car. Us body color people like that look.
