I used to work a 10/80 (10 hour days, every other Friday off). I much preferred it over a standard 8 hour work day workweek and so did the manufacturing floor people (once they realized they weren't going to get screwed out of overtime hours).

I had previously said I didn't think they would start a second shift today, and that turned out to be correct. I don't even know if they will start the second shift next week. Some of this depends on how well the suppliers were able to do last week while the Corvette plant was offline. Second shift is dependent upon suppliers at this point.
