Just a thought.... Did any over-paid PR/Ad Exec in the zillion-dollar Toyota Corporation suggest (even sheepishly) to the Daimyo running the company that English is not only the primary language in several major markets (USA, UK, Australia),but also the de-facto second language of most of the wealthy, educated, (and by definition, car buyers), in the rest of the world??

And in English TRD is pronounced "Turd"... and I don't have to define "Turd".... "Turd" is , well, "Turd"

As I understand it the Supra's suspension is trash. Not my review. There's a number of reviewers that have reported the Supra is such a disappointment that they can't understand how Toyota got so much so wrong.

The MK4 supra was so ahead of it's time in looks and performance. The MK5 is a BMW Toyota has tuned. It's also backward how the 86 is a 4 seater and the heavier Supra being a two seater and is marketed more focused? The whole thing doesn't make any sense.

If Toyota just remake the MK4 thats modernized for today I'd buy one just for nostalgia sake. It'll probably even be a better seller.

Corvette is really amazing being under 60 grand mid engine and 495hp. Amazing and will raise the bar everywhere.

The MK4 sales were abysmal in the US. So bad it led Toyota to kill off the car. I remember shopping them, and dealers had massive discounts (I ended up buying an RX-7). I get why the MK5 Supra is polarizing but without a join partnership with BMW you would most likely not get a new Supra or any other low selling 2 seater sports car.

Sports cars are dying, and really car sales in general have suffered in recent years in favor of SUV's and trucks. It's just the reality of the situation. In recent years Ford has stopped selling cars like the Focus ST, Focus RS, Fiesta ST, etc in the US and there are rumors that the Camaro may be killed off again due to poor sales.

if you are familiar with them Lexus\Toyota are the top of the reliability and satisfaction charts. However I think they have become the new GM while not updating some platforms for 10 years or more. Too many models even if they all use standardized mirrors,cruise stalks etc.

Problem is the C7 is still way sexier and still runs circles around it, despite being "newer". And they kept too much BMW in it and didn't take the opportunity to make it more of a true Supra. I have no issue with BMW parts, in fact I love a turbo inline 6 BMW motor. I think I'd prefer a Z4 instead if I had to choose.....rambling I know.

Those are Two absolutely different class vehicles,
C8 is targeting Ferrari and Porsche and Lamborghini,

supra is targeted to civic Type R and Subaru WRX buyers.

if Toyota even remotely thinks supra is going to snag c8 buyers they are beyond delusional.
