I don't know what I said the other night, but it must have been bad. I want to apologize to everyone on this forum. I might have had one glass of wine too many. I clearly don't want to be a jackass as I am new on this forum. Please forgive me. It will never happen again.

Probably this one:
"This is the first American car that I have ever ordered. I have never owned an American car. I have had many great experiences with Honda, BMW, Porsche, Audi, Ferrari, etc. This whole process tells me what a piece of **** GM is. I talked to my dealer today and he knows nothing. What company keeps their dealers in the dark like this? I think the new C8 Corvette is a great car, but GM is ruining it for everyone. "
Can understand some members would have been upset BUT others have said worse about GM! My reaction is have you ever owned one for those foreign cars during a pandemic like this one? Frankly how can GM tell their dealers anything when they have no firm idea how many 2020 C8s they can produce! Some say "tell us your best estimates." I'm 77, retired 20 years and made that mistake in my prior life. If they can't be sure, best IMO and experience only say what you can be sure of. Like the recent decision and statement that they will continue to make 2020's until this November rather than the previous 2020 model year end in September.
How could they know when they were going to restart production? How can they know what their production will be through November. NOPE, don't tell me what you hope or plan will happen- only what you know for sure. Just gets folks more upset when what you said would happen doesn't! FWIW

Unless you verbally attacked someone in a personal way, there is absolutely no need for you to apologize to anyone. You have a right to express your opinion. That's what these places are for. Period!

You'll know when you need to apologize when you get a thread locked and you get a vacation. Pretty good indicator you've stepped over the line, until then, you're good.

Yes, there are some great GM dealerships out there. Sadly the majority however really lack something anywhere close to walking into and dealing with the brands he mentioned. That's why I've felt Corvettes should be sold at Caddy dealers. Crest Caddy in Frisco, TX is freaking nice as hell and you feel special when you are there. Their service department is top notch, clean, professional. Definitely NOT the average experience of a local Chevy dealer.

In fact they are part of a large Chevy/BMW/Mercedes dealership. In the BMW waiting room I get soft seats, pick the coffee I want in little capsule and a free protein bar etc! Now the Chevy waiting area is 50 yards away, and coffee, if lucky, has been made and I can pour in a paper cup. Snacks are in a vending machines. Seats are not as nice and usually soap opera's playing on the one TV! I seldom have to go there as I change my own oil! Pay your money and pick your choice! It's a $69,000 Corvette!

Probably best to avoid a chrome rim, round taillight, or hidden headlight thread for a few days.
