I developed respiratory symptoms 3 weeks ago and completed a 14-day quarantine last Friday. Unable to get a Covid test because my symptoms were mild and I didn’t fall into the “high-risk” categories of certain health issues or age. Testing reserved for those who need it most right now. Covid or just a non-Covid URI? Only way to nail that down is an anti-body test. I did have double pneumonia in the mid-late ‘90’s as a healthy mid 30’s guy. It almost killed me, I lost 30+ pounds in the 3+ weeks I was sick and had to go through breathing therapy.

A common final stop for Covid is pneumonia. If it can do what it did to me, it will kill anyone, especially those vulnerable. Trust me, you don’t want to shoot craps with anything that leads to bad pneumonia like this can.

Problem is asymptomatic means they do not show ANY symptoms.That means the thermal imaging for temperature is useless

I fully get that, but we're getting calls on equipment like this. I think everyone is struggling to do SOMETHING in an attempt to get going again. Early on they told everyone if you have a fever of 100.4 or higher you may have it, turns out that's just one of many or no symptoms that you could have. My wife said a woman at her work got sick and missed work from Jan1 until Feb. She had a fever and had respiratory issues. After a couple weeks got better and then nosed over hard. Long before they were testing anyone around here, they never did know what was wrong, but........

You are absolutely correct!! The folks who develop vaccines have been working on one for HIV, Sars, swine flu, the common cold and many others and have not got to first base on any of them. Add coronavirus to the list.

A vaccine may not even be necessary.

I think you’re wrong about possible therapies or a “magic pill”. It’s very likely that better therapies will be developed over the next few months that will lower the risk of serious illness and death.

Don't underestimate the big profit motive for biopharmaceutical companies to come
up with new therapies.

That would be a step in the right direction.

We need to listen to a variety of experts (like economists, psychiatrists, and sociologists), not just medical doctors who have ZERO experience with economic effects and mental health.

Recessions/depressions/widespread unemployment is capable of affecting way more people in suicides (known and studied fact) and severely affected livelihoods than this CCP virus.

Thanks for the lesson! Never ceases to amaze me how some people who listen to a few BS news reports and read things on the internet have these medical issues all figured out to the point that they feel the need to educate Physicians. Hope you are not on the edge of your chair bug eyed anticipating that "miracle pill". Keep in mind that the "big profit motive" that you have enlightened me on will diminish very rapidly over the next 2-3 months as the virus fades along with the financial incentive for that miracle potion.
