Hint: there aren’t nearly enough billionaires on earth to fund what the “stay shutdown until it all goes away” people suggest, even if we tax them at 100%.

Yeah the only people working are the "working class". Maybe you should come out of your cave once in a while. "Sacrifice" what a remark but coming from SF CA not the least bit surprising.

I agree 100%, these numbers we are fed are completely off the rails. With up to 40% being asymptomatic and until you show multiple signs before tested, there are probably millions with it in the USA. To your point, there is a woman in our county that has it and the only symptom she has is loss of smell and taste.
A common final stop for Covid is pneumonia. If it can do what it did to me, it will kill anyone, especially those vulnerable. Trust me, you don’t want to shoot craps with anything that leads to bad pneumonia like this can.

I'm big brother, I just sat through a webinar on thermal imaging cameras and software (COVID-19 driven) that can be put at entrances to facilities and measure within .5 degrees F someones temperature. It can do this in milliseconds and can handle 30 people at a normal walking pace. Once identified, the person can be pulled and have their temperature properly taken and sent home before they come into a huge work place. You just set the trigger threshold and away you go. Also accurately reads if they are wearing a ball cap and or a mask.

I fully get that, but we're getting calls on equipment like this. I think everyone is struggling to do SOMETHING in an attempt to get going again. Early on they told everyone if you have a fever of 100.4 or higher you may have it, turns out that's just one of many or no symptoms that you could have. My wife said a woman at her work got sick and missed work from Jan1 until Feb. She had a fever and had respiratory issues. After a couple weeks got better and then nosed over hard. Long before they were testing anyone around here, they never did know what was wrong, but........

Just as ignorant as those 'medical professionals' who fail to realize that shutting down the entire country for 6+ months "waiting for the vaccine" will be more deadly to more people than the virus itself.
See "Venezuela" for a real world example of how people suffer in a totally failed economic system. Or do you think that "it cannot happen here!"???
The Govt simply can't print money fast enough to fund every state and every one of the 350,000,000 people in the country with free money to be idle for 6+ months.

I can tell you one thing, that will kill ten times more people than corona virus.

A vaccine may not even be necessary.
I think you’re wrong about possible therapies or a “magic pill”. It’s very likely that better therapies will be developed over the next few months that will lower the risk of serious illness and death.
Don't underestimate the big profit motive for biopharmaceutical companies to come
up with new therapies.
That would be a step in the right direction.

Recessions/depressions/widespread unemployment is capable of affecting way more people in suicides (known and studied fact) and severely affected livelihoods than this CCP virus.

You don’t need to be a physician to know that.
