There's nothing wrong paying over sticker if you want it now and don't care. That's your prerogative.
It's a sliding scale.
The extra 10k isn't impactful to some.

Same reason some forum members buy them new knowing they will lose 30k when they sell it in 3 years.
Other members will wait 3 years to buy a used one strictly to save the 30k

Please explain due to the virus it's now a buyers market? I am the Corvette Specialist at a top 100 dealership and I have had ZERO customers cancel their orders. I have a sold inbound Corvette that GM uploaded to our website and already today I have 16 email leads and several phone calls. I think the Porsche Forum is calling you!!

People have different priorities. I knew people in Florida that lived in a sketchy trailer park and drove brand new nice trucks (the truck literally cost more than their house).

There are people, many of them, who thinks it's stupid to buy an expensive car to begin with....a $20,000 car will get you where you are going just as well.

Believe me, I'm not a miser.... I raced cars, my wife and I would go to Paris for 3-4 weeks a year.... I live in a beach resort.... I just don't **** money away for no reason.
Your last paragraph is border line hilarious. You don't **** away money for no reason. So why have you spent lots of money on racing, Paris, beach resort etc? Simple answer is because that's what makes you happy. Two of them are pure outgoing money. Beach resort is questionable after you pay years of maintenance, property taxes, insurance etc.

Let me guess... 22 million Americans unemployed. 50% of Americans were one paycheck from foreclosure/eviction before Corona. A US GDP that's in contraction for the foreseeable future. In summary: Americans are tapped out. Other than that it's a great time to buy a nonessential luxury vehicle.

Amazing how many of these buyer vs dealer threads pop up. And they all sound about the same. Dealers trying to pump prices up. Buyers trying to bring dealers back to reality. I'm sure we'll all meet somewhere on the sale's price curve.

^ And then there are the geezers who are retired, collecting a pension, conservatively invested, with very few other expenses. Who sounds more like a Corvette buyer, your "50% of Americans" or this guy?

OP. Maybe a better question would be- unless you have FU money why in the world would you spend it on this car now instead of waiting a year?

I mean how many people have the C8 as a low end stable mate that we've seen here? Many.... so I get them .

The people I cant wrap my head around are those will just enough to support having a C8 and then stretching to be first... their money but it's like watching someone by a fugazi Rolex or something on a street corner vs researching it on line and waiting for it to come. A car is a HUGE investment besides your house (or boat) it's probably your largest purchase.

Whats 20K to a multi millionaire? There is a guy in here, I forgot his name, who has purchased over 70 Vettes during his life time. He checks in once in awhile to show off his new Vette. I guess he drives it around the block and trades it for the "latest and greatest". It takes all kinds.

Most of these cars that are available are not a $60K no option base car. They are usually 3LT or 2LT Z51 with lots of optinons. $75-90K in most cases.

So what is $5-10K on a $90K car for most buyers? It's not like we are talking about a base level Malibu.

And even at $90K with a $5-10K markup that's a bargain vs a 911 with similar options.

if this same car and msrp maybe a 2 3 or even 4k increase will be discounted. It always is. No matter what. Today's (or really tomorrow's) climate even moreso knowing what we are in for. God bless them all.

Wealth and poverty is determined by the thoughts that occupy our minds. Massive communist indoctrination at our schools and the media depend on people who would ask such a question. The poor get poorer and the rich get richer.

Default price over MSRP

1 - Some dealers sell at MSRP then add stuff Ceramic coating etc which can add thousands over msrp. You are a Porsche guy, Try to buy one that is in short supply, As a benchmark, I was at my BMW dealer when the R8 first came came out. They had an $80,000 dealer premium on the car. IT SOLD in a couple of weeks.
