OK, no one knows for sure exactly what will happen, so it's all guess here, intelligent guess or otherwise

One guess we'll have to make, is that if GM does push all the current 3000 status order to 2021 model, what's the chance they will ask us to re-configure the car without changing the waiting list order.

For example, if my order of Z51 vert is pushed to 2021 model, I am fine with that, except I'd drop the Z51 and take on the Mag Ride only option, while keeping everything else the same. It seems to me that due to some options are dropped for the 2021 model, for example, my Blade Silver color won't be available anymore, people like me who ordered that color would have to re-configure.

So what's the chance that if we'll have to reconfigure, our waiting position will be re-shuffled, and we may be pushed to the end of the wait list? - GM ask dealers like MacMulkin to ask us to re-configure and re-submit our orders, effectively putting us behind those who already on the 2021 model waiting list with deposits made? Or will GM keep our current waiting list position and just ask us re-configure.

Anyone has an intelligent guess here?

Everything is a guess -- "GM Authority" probably took Kai's interview and extrapolated his words. Whether correct or not? Consider that the line won't begin producing new cars until at least June and that the employees will require retraining -- does it make sense to introduce a brand new configuration and new process to an assembly line??

For an additional cost/profit of $7,500.00 for the HTC, yes, it does make sense to build as many as they can.

There was another thread in which an apparently authoritative poster stated if 2020 orders in the system do not get produced, those orders will be cancelled, and a new 2021 order would have to be created. That would give folks an opportunity to reconsider and make any configuration changes one wants.

I suspect most dealers will make an effort to honor a customer's place in line, but that will be up to each individual dealer. There is no unified GM "waiting list." It all happens at the dealer level when they have allocations to order, and when they enter their orders into the system.

I agree with you. My dealer told me the same thing. Referencing previous posts by myself and many others, if your 2020 order does not get fulfilled the order will become void. You would then have your choice as to whether you want to order a 2021 or not and get your deposit back. Ordering a 2021 will of course necessitate submitting a new build to your dealer. Your dealer can then decide where to place you in their pecking order. My dealer told me that I would be placed in front of their 2021 order line and would only be behind other 2020 orders that were not built but were ordered before me. IMO I would contact your dealer and get them to “commit” to you where you would fall in line if your 2020 isn’t built. I suppose they could ultimately renege on this “promise” but I wouldn’t think it in their best interest to do so.

our status is also 3000 for a long beach red convertible, but nobody seems to know if we will get to keep this color for 2021! What if people don't want to pay the extra $$$ for a 2021??!

Plant Manager stated they never had a production date for HTC. Was April 6 just a date the Forum was hoping for?
If they build coupes that were ordered months later then I think the HTC's ordered in Jan-Feb-Mar should be price protected.

My HTC is at 3000 and had a TPW date of 4/13/2020 before the TPW date was removed from the system.
