Whether it is freight damage or from a joy ride, I would not accept it, and if it is actual miles I would not accept it either. Even though you may have paid for the car, if you have been a regular customer of this dealership or first time customer, any reputable dealer would not require you to accept the car even after repair and/or discount. You paid a $5K premium for a new car with neither damage or miles on it. If that same car was on the lot when you "bought" it with the damage you probably wouldn't accept it. Why should you now? Best of luck deciding what road to take. Save the wave.🇺🇸

I'd wonder if this "damage" will be flagged in future CarFax and other vehicle history databases? If so, that factor alone would motivate me to abandon this vehicle and seek a 2021

First I would not pay a premium for the car.
Second the damage on the front and the door were mistakes from transporting the car or a joy ride. Front is from bumping into something and the door is hitting the side of the rail car or the truck when getting in and out. Both can easily be fixed but I would not pay a premium and request that it’s fixed without being reported. If reported then I would walk you will never gain that back when you try to sell the car. Good luck.

Fortunately for him, he was smart enough to make the opposite and correct decision and not listen to the nonsense here. The car did not have 120+ miles on it, the dealer mistook the remaining fuel range indicator for the odo, and the blemishes were minor and easily repairable.
Most of you guys have no idea how much of this stuff happens during assembly, yet people delude themselves into thinking they're getting pristine, never damaged cars.

Very true!!!! I was driving near coughlin, the big dealer in Ohio a few years back on a Sunday and saw a hauler unloading new c6 corvettes. Those cars were bounced around being unloaded. After the driver left it was clear more then a few wheels were chewed up.
Cars even at the plant which are damaged are repaired and shipped.

Bingo!! Factory would never ship a damaged car like that. This happened after it left the factory. Cars get off loaded and reloaded for local deliveries at least once. And it could have been damaged by a joy rider after it arrived at the dealership.

Yes, but the point folks were making is that they are also damaged during assembly and fixed at BG before shipping so that the damage is undetectable. A customer would never know their "pristine, factory-fresh" car was damaged during assembly.
The damage in OP's case was minor, easily fixable by pros, and there are plenty out there capable of doing factory quality or better repair jobs.
BTW, for those who only read an OP and then post, HIS CAR DID NOT HAVE 120 MILES ON THE ODO. Someone at that dealer couldn't tell the difference between an odometer and distance to empty display.

I think it really boils down on how you feel about the car. If this ruins it for you move on, if not take it. Everyone will have a different opinion, but I for one would have so much fun with the car...the looks, driving it,
the waves, the explaining it's a corvette and not a Ferrari that I'd take it and enjoy it.

Why not read just a few of the posts before yours before giving your opinion. The did not have 120 miles on it. It was a mistake by the delivering dealer in reading the odo. the damge was minor and corrected. Just like some the cars coming off the assembly line.

I remember the first time I went on the factory tour when the c-4 was being built . Back then you got to see a lot more of what was going on . Clear back in the back they had a wooden fence with a whole lot of c-4's sitting in there . Some of them had blue tape on them and I asked the tour guide what was that all about . He said that those were the ones that had paint and body defects and they were being fixed !
Not every corvette you see on the lot has come off the line perfect .
As a side ,close to the end of the tour an employee was checking the oil in one and I saw the sticker that said Mobil 1 oil . He said every corvette that is built there has Mobil 1in it . That is when I started using Mobil 1 in all my vehicle's

I've updated the Original Post with the fact that the odometer did NOT have 120 miles on it as the OP confirmed in post #142.
