I'm surprised those Facia Strakes did not fly off when the car got up to speed!

Oops! Dang, so do you replace the missing screws or document that it's the way it came from the factory so you don't lose NCRS points? Just kidding. I remember when LT-1 C3's came from the factory with misaligned pinstripes on the hood. Restorers replaced them misaligned because "that's the way it came from the factory".

It will take 20 years for the NCRS to think about C8's. They are a reactive group, not proactive when it comes to gathering data. A bunch of lazy f_cks.

To be fair, I read the McLaren board, and you see similar issues on their builds - and this is in a factory that looks like a semiconductor clean room. Humans make mistakes, it's that simple.

A lot of issues are expected to happen in any early production.

But I doubt if that’s real!

Guess they figured it was staying in the car by popping it into the slot, so the heck with the screws.

While those screws in particular may not be high risk, (as someone in quality myself), I would start to wonder where else is hardware missing?

If the process wasn't capable of catching that, then there are likely gaps elsewhere along the way. I guess the PFMEA was not fully effective.

Perhaps someone (unknown to the guy doing the video) in the shop removed them in preparation of applying the protective film, some of which is already on the car. Or to be a little cynical, maybe someone needed clicks and viewing minutes. Which video do you think will ge more views, one telling about a perfectly assembled C8. Or one highlighting an error that we all need to check for?

I do not really think big deal...sure it would be great if all the screws where there but should be an easy fix. However, this is where, at least in my view point, the chevy service does not help the corvette. I purchased a SLK320 back in 2001. It was the first manual SLK320 in the states by the way... the wiper blades would not turn off when the car was on - this was 2 days after purchase and the first time i tried them. I called my salesman and explained. He told me he and a service tech would come to my house in the next 2 hours and either fix it at my house or drop me a loaner. To me there will always be issues but how the issues are handled is what matters.

Now, if that was my C8 and I called my salesman I bet he would transfer me to service, where either no one would pick up or have to leave a voice mail. the voice mail would never be returned so I would have to call and the solution would be for me to bring the corvette down to service and wait for it.
Why do i say this - I had a C6 which broke down left me stranded two days after owning it (traded the SLK320 for it in 2010) and called my salesman and the above is what occurred but I had to wait a week before they saw me. I expressed I just purchased to the service manager but he did not care.

So far I have taken my C7 in for service twice- first for new tires (all seasons) and the first oil change. The tire went well but the oil change took 2.5 hours and after the first hour I think if I did not ask why my car was still sitting outside I would still be waiting.

However, love the C7 and all the corvette experience has to offer...I mean we have our own museum

I actually wonder if the car would look better without those little canards in the air intake. They look like an afterthought honestly and I believe they are. Something done about pedestrian regulations and front end area.
