Yes, i was using Escort Live. However, when you are using Escort Live, it relies on the GPS speed limit to determine when to alert you, regardless of where you have the cruise Alert set! This is explained in the link below (16 minute mark) by www.Vortexradar.com That is why it is important that the GPS data needs to be correct as the detector will mute the signal if the posted speed limit is lower than what the GPS data is providing.
I'm not sure why anyone would even bother with the Escort Live pay service now that Waze is so widely used.

If you rely on the GPS indicator and it is incorrect, you do not get the alert when you need it! I experienced NO alert when I entered a 45 mph zone from a 55 mph zone and the the detector still showed I was still in a 55 mph zone! If it was accurate the over-speed-limit warning alert would have been heard. There are issues with Wase as well. For over twenty years, I have used a Vaentine detector and have had zero speeding citations using their products with out any third party apps, so I have returned to Valentine and feel a lot more "comfortable"!!

Not sure what mode he was testing! Both detectors have a reduced range when in a mode that minimizes false alerts. The new Valentine Gen2 has ranges that almost match the Uniden 7's! When I tested the Max 360c, I tested it in the "auto" mode and the V1G1 in the "L" mode which is Valentine's comparable mode. When I compared them in the Max360c "highway" mode and the V1G1 mode (most sensitive/most noisy) the V1G1 was still slightly better, but I think most of us want a quieter device with maximum protection.

Here's the original Redline:
and here's the Redline EX:
The Max360 isn't stealth.
Keep in mind though that this is a feature that most drivers in the US won't need.

You can also considering running it with the display turned off and only displaying alerts on your phone (if you're not doing so already) to help visually conceal it too.

Mostly, yes, assuming you have a newer V1 Gen1, but not completely. The new V1's strength meter only goes to 6 dots max, not 8 like the old one, so the new CD will now max out at 6 dots for full strength instead of 8. Other than that, yes you can still use your old CD.

Of all the times when having radar made sense, this isn't one of them.
Ya all want to see how fast your Corvette can go, now is the perfect opportunity!
NO cop wants to stick his head inside a car right now.

I sent mine in for the upgrade, they received it on 03/25 and they shut down due to Covid, it's been sitting there since as I wait for my new one, I've been without one for over a month now.

Yeah, they've had that "reasoning" up on their website for years -- I'm not buying it.
If it were actually true, and they actually believed it, why would Valentine still offer GPS (via BT dongle) as an extra-cost "accessory"? And Escort, Uniden, Radenso -- all the other top rated detectors -- they are all doing it wrong?

Proven & 'new' nuisance alarm location's are stored & referenced.
On The list = no alarm.
Can see where urban areas w/ a lot of strip malls, banks it'd be handy.
No idea what these new boxes do or don't do re vehicle sensors.
