C8 Corvettes at dealer under MSRP

C8 Corvettes at dealer under MSRP
I have been calling some dealers within a few hundred miles of me that are listing their C8 Corvettes under MSRP to see if it was a glitch or bait and switch. Some were bait and switch however quite a few said the price was correct and the car was in transit to the dealership and I could leave a deposit with a buyers order. I had one of them tell me I had to finance the C8 for the under MSRP price though which was the first time I ever heard this.
Maybe they are concerned that sales will tank over the coronavirus and want to move as many units as possible now?

With the stock market tanking every other day, maybe sales are slipping!

The prices are real. There is a serious concern that with this stock market tank, these cars won’t sell and will sit on lots right next to the c7’s that aren’t selling. I know 3 people that walked away from their deposits because of this concern. It’s real. People are hoarding cash and concerned with taking on a 70-100k loan in these hard times.

I passed on my dealer's first C8 allocation spot about a month ago. I have a difficult time paying MSRP for anything, and the final straw for me was the GM Card redemption allowance drop from $3k on C7 to $1500 on C8. I'll just rough it out in my C7 GS for now.
C7 dealer discounts and GM incentives eventually outpaced the price increases.

If you say that the c8 is being discounted enough times does that somehow come true?
if you found the car at a discount...buy it or share the dealer so one of the other guys can..if in fact its true.
just because for the first time in my 60 years on this earth we have a president that declared a state of national emergency (to release finding for a corona virus thats killed 40 or 50:people in the past couple of weeks..
this to shall pass as the deathrates fall in line with the previous flu epidemics...
So share the dealership name thats got c8 corvettes for sale at a discount along with the phone number or website if its real.

Price of the car means little. What is the out the door price including all the dealer fees and any additional financing charges? I found a great price on a new ZL1 last month. Then discovered the dealer charged $1595 for a "Security and safety fee" plus a outrageous DOC fee. Then they required me to finance thru them at 5.5%.

So dealers get kickbacks on financing though them so maybe they are offering a discount but making it up in the kickback. There is a used car dealership near me that has great prices but you "have to" finance the car though them if you don't they jack up the price of the car.

I have a good relationship with my dealer........ I always finance the car and pay it off soon there after just so he can get whatever commission he gets from the bank. So requiring you to finance is no surprise.... just make sure theres no pre payment penalty.
Actually all car manufactures make certain requirements...... $x cash back or x% financing or such.

I checked a number of dealers and when asked is XXX model was in stock -- stated it was sold already.
However I did spot some that were available. But it was ordered with every conceivable LPO item -- including car cover and Luggage.

Exactly and I am the one that started a thread couple weeks ago: Considering the Market and Economy vs Cancelling your C8 orders. And to date it has some 14 pages of replies on here. Had to laugh at all the know it all optimistic and poo poo replies that I initially got but after a few more days it sure took a turn in a different way.
