Default After seeing quite a few C8's:

....................and seeing another on on the road again today (I'm within 10 miles of the Milford Proving Grounds) - I have concluded I do not like the way these look on the road. I don't care how fast they are or how fabulous they are, I just do not like the looks of them on the road. They look way overstyled - too busy. They do not scream CORVETTE - they scream Nissan newfangled whatever. Sorry - just my opinion. Mid engine car? I'll take a Ford GT gen 2 - now THAT was a sharp car!

A. why post here? I usually don't go places and post what I don't like about the product. If Corona virus funding had a dollar for every one of these posts it would be cured.

B. Nice logical comparison to a car that costs ten times more.

100% agreed on exterior (the majority of it)

Each new gen of corvette since the C4 I fell in love with - first sight - the camo cars were butt ugly and when the camo came off it did nothing for me. Night of the reveal was the biggest letdown - car wise - of my life. The car was the same shape.

I'm so hoping the Z06 accoutrementsake this car better looking or I may skip the whole gen.

Interior much improved Sans the button wall of China. (Hoping the Z06 puts a Ferrari type pass side display strip or something over there so it's not a motorcycle side car) I share my corvette experience with my wife. What a let down.

Thanks for the update of what you're thinking..
I never liked the look of the last four generations of the car, but I would never make a post just to tell those who do like the cars that.
Its like the ramblings of a person, sent out to the forum..

Waiting for the haters to push back.
Otoh, you are not alone I'm sure. There are a lot of manual owners that will not make the jump. Me, I'll wait for the Z06. If I can gracefully get into and out of it, then I'll make my decision.

You don’t like it, don’t buy it. Good luck finding a Ford GT at this price.

I think I'll go post on the (insert any other automobile forum here) and let them all know how I don't like their car. Nah, I have better things to do with my life.

It's possible. Car just barely moves my heartrate. Because it's new. By next year it will just be old..

Serious question. What would you prefer for $90K? I can think of a couple of contenders.

How much money is attached to that opinion....?

That's the bottom line....

If you can't afford one, just say so....

Otherwise, move along....

Hey man, I've been a member of CF for a long time, & I have every right to post something like this. Sorry you (& others) don't like the negativity. I really wanted to like the C-8's, but wanted to give it time before I formulated my opinion. So don't act like I'm a troll coming in with no posts. I've been a true musclecar guy since before many of you were even born. It finally hit home with me today after seeing a blue C-8 earlier this afternoon. *And poster #2 here agreed with me so there!

Very logical! GM could have made the Vette look damn good - in a good way like the Ford GT, but they chose the radical wedge styling they wanted. Costs nothing more to make something look one way or another.

OK, so you are a millenial with an attitude then? I'm 62 - so what. Glad I'm not younger - and I came in late for the musclecar era. I had a real summer of 76 - great memories. Oh the cars I've owned!

OP, I am with you joined the CF same year 2005 and agree with you 100% except for the Ford GT thing as that to me looks like in some ways a C8 EXOTIC SUPERCAR but this forum is not the place to post this stuff especially as guys get their cars. I think in all honesty the Corvette has gone EXOTIC SUPERCAR instead of SPORTS CAR! Some of us like Lambos and Ferraris and some of us don't. The Corvette whether we like it or not has gone EXOTIC SUPERCAR! I hope it sells fantastic to keep the brand name CORVETTE alive.

Well, it just depends on what screams 'Corvette' to you or which generation you most identify with. The C7 looks nothing like the original C1, so you can say that none of the subsequent generations have been true to the original. When I was a kid, the C3 was the first Corvette I saw, so that's the image I have burned in my mind of what a Corvette should look like. But, times change, and to many in a new generation, the C8 will be what they identify as a 'Corvette'. I'm on the fence about whether I like the look of the C8 better than the latest C7s, but I sure wasn't as excited about the C7 when it was introduced as I was about the C8.

I'm actually quite happy that the older generation doesn't like it. That means that GM succeeded in creating a new buyer pool for the Corvette, which means that the brand and car will continue to grow, instead of getting old and dying. And I know this because at the moment, doesn't look like sales are slowing any time soon....
