This C8's has the potential to be a mess
To buy any GM product much less a new design the first year takes a level of chance I'm not willing to take ha ha. Lets see how long it takes for the first recall or electrical issue comes up. And to think you get the opportunity to pay above retail just sweetens the deal! Couldn't get me to part with my money for a first year vette.

2020 C8 of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
Seems to me the more reviews and posts of how great the C8 is over the C7 there are more meaningless troll posts against the C8.

Corvettes typically have four years before the next model is coming out and current model is less desired. Are you skipping 25% of that time because of things that “might” happen that would be covered under warranty? If that’s how you want to live

We just don't know anything about the C8's reliability, etc. The first new owners are just this weekend taking delivery. Give it a chance at this point. Please.

All depends what you want in life doesn’t it? You want to keep your money and watch others enjoy their corvettes it’s your choice.
As far as issues there is a warranty.
Ive been very impressed how gm has stood behind their warranty w the corvette

Rooting for failure makes no sense to me. The slight risk is well worth the reward. Glad to be on this early ride.

Either way, I would certainly sit out a first year considering the previous generations first-year Vs second and third year models. Also, GMs warranties seem a bit iffy so I don't think I'd trust them depending on what issues arise. Rather have an older generation for a while longer and wish I had gotten a new one earlier than getting a new one and end up wishing I had stuck with the old one for a few more years. Especially since I still enjoy my old car 👴

The O.P. is from California. The whining is to be expected.
Hey O.P. if you don't want to buy one-DON'T ! No one is forcing you.
Probably the type of person that stands in line to buy a new cell phone the first day they become available.

For now, still enjoying my C7. If and when I get the urge for a C8, I’ll make the jump at that time.
Meanwhile, more power to the early adopters. Enjoy your C8 and let us laggards know about it!

Thats fine. Not everyone is cut out to be an early adopter. Nothing wrong with that. But, no need to start a thread with a negative post. Why rain on other’s parade?
