If the E-Ray is LT2 powered with an electric motor up front then it makes sense that it would slot between Stingray and Z06. Priced between Stingray and Z06 and packaged with Z07 performance options (big brakes, FE5 etc., etc.) would give it a nice slot that ticks the performance hybrid box and potentially eases the pain a bit if the new Z06 is more expensive this time around (which if Z06 is DOHC, FPC and turbo = $$$). Plus with that additional torque and power plus AWD the E-Ray would be damn quick.

Oh you didn't hear? They also removed the LT2 for extra golf club/lawnchair space and stuck a lawnmower engine in the front to make it front engined and give boomers the power and feel of a 1975 C3

But does it have vent windows and window cranks ? Oh and radio delete. I don’t want those dang tubes heating up and warping my all metal dash.

The way the industry is going, I'd be hard-pressed to think a 4wd Corvette hybrid with about 100HP+ front electric motor is not in the works... makes too much sense, and would challenge the performance of the C7 Z06... I also think an ICE only base car will remain in the line-up for the foreseeable future.

Now, the mythical "Z06" is a big question mark... too many possible options to consider, but probably a turbo/hybrid power-train....

Electric cars are no more efficient in using natural resources than gas cars. It is all a marketing ploy. My Corvette will be a combustion engine a not battery driven magnetic electric. If you want to use less resources try having fewer babies.

I don't think anything is coming until customer cars are in our hands and they have the 2020 Bash and introduce the '21 MY changes. Could that include an eRay? Maybe. Wouldn't affect me as I'm getting what I want and have no desire for a hybrid or forced induction.

The problem will be that if the Z06 is a 600 horse FPC 5.5 DOHC, where will the hybrid LT2 fit in? Getting fairly crowded in the model line up.

When was the C7 E-ray release? I'm not sure the history of past gens will do much in the way of dictating when a hybrid Corvette would be released.

It dosent matter what variant comes out next because it will sell like hotcakes as well. GM has put the proverbial beat down on the entire sports car industry. Its gone beyond viral now, and will decimate all other manufacturers 100 percent guaranteed. If anyone out there still thinks Ferraris are not going to be affected then i have swamp land to sell you. The C8 series is that big. Million dollar hyper cars are now afterthoughts, and the world is awaiting GMs follow up models. A great product is simply a great product across all price ranges. I guess the ROLEX THEORY isnt valid anymore.

I called it from the begining and nobody is selling anything other than multimillion dollar exotics. April will show the California sales records as flat for anything BUT THE C8 guaranteed. Its now the most searched sportscar period bar none.

Sporty, exotic looks, plenty of cargo space for grocery runs, removable roof, and 30 mpg average or maybe better?

Yeah, I'll replace my daily driver C7 Z06 in a heartbeat for an AWD hybrid even if performance on track takes a hit for the extra weight.

Maybe the Z06 will go back light weight focus with the NA 5.5L and active aero for both fast short and high-speed performance.

2 second 0-60 is happening in this Corvette generation, though maybe not until the 'Zora' or whatever they call the 1000hp monster.

Because of your point and EPA/emissions I increasingly think the FPC engine will be turbocharged.

Default 2021 electric corvette has to appear

Which means about 600 hp.

My prediction for C8 models:

Stingray- we already know about it of course

E-Ray- hybrid Stingray with LT2

Z06- N/A FPC V8

(Maybe) a GS with a hybrid Z06 motor so they get the most use out of the electric motor, or maybe instead it has the ZR1/Zora TT V8 without the hybrid system, or perhaps it continues to be a Z06 widebody with the base motor, or perhaps there is no GS at all. IMO the GS is the most "up in the air" variant of the C8 due to the amount of possibilities for it.

ZR1/Zora: TT V8 with hybrid motor
The Super Bowl ad’s for the 1000 hp electric pickup that will appear in 2021 means that there will also be an electric corvette in 2021- you can’t have the truck division surpassing the Corvette division in 0 to 60 - furthermore the electrical architecture will be amortizated over multiple brands to take on Tesla on all fronts

Quick Reply: Is the "E-Ray" the next model?
