Motor 1 slams the C8 as a lesser car than 911
https://www.motor1.com/reviews/400027/2020-chevrolet-corvette-coupe-first-drive/ we already have the Nurburgring times and others have reviewed the car, but this internet mag is outright getting medieval on the C8 and states body roll as well as the C7 a better car. You be the judge, first they say its ugly then its not. This is crazy.

It was a very favorable piece that highlights some of the same critiques we have already seen before. Rear visibility without the camera sucks. It's not an opinion, it's a fact. Go ride in a Gen6 Camaro and you can understand the complaint and the C8 will be even worse. Not everyone is going to love the wall of buttons (again a common complaint).
They highlighted braking (new brake by wire system) and less lateral grip than the C7 and, again, this was brought up before in other reviews. It's not an opinion, it's been tested and it's backed by numbers. Does that make the car terrible? No. As the review stated there are lots of pros too that make this car superior to the C7, but it's not all roses. He mentioned that the car is more luxurious and refined than previous Corvette's but it sounds like it comes at the expense of some of the "pants on fire" feeling and sound you got from previous generations where those cars had a lot of character due to FE design with RWD and things like a manual gearbox.
I am glad when journalists point out both the pros and cons. It doesn't make it a hit piece, the guy is just sharing facts and opinions. Some of you guys act like the C8 is some chariot of the Gods, and the reality is that it's still a $59K base Corvette and there are pros and cons.
The car is an incredible value for the money, but the Corvette always has.

Hmmm . . . your hyperbolic declarations about the entire world unanimously bowing down and declaring ultimate C8 superiority uber alles aren't quite coming true, huh? How sad for you.
It's obviously a great performance bargain, and clearly a big hit out of the box, but nothing is ever going to be universally declared superior.

If OP thinks this review is somebody "outright getting medieval" in its criticism of the C8, I fear we may need to institute wellness checks for him when the first genuinely negative hit piece comes out on it.
Although when that happens, his comedic value in here will increase by several orders of magnitude, no doubt.

ANY negative reponse to the C8 is opinionated. There is a obvious omission from anyone that reads this without seeing the glaring negative undertone. The question from here on out will be why. I am only showing what happens to a obviously brilliant piece of American engineering. It still wont stop sales.

New Car Dude,
Why get so emotional about a car? Seriously, you need more friends.

Thill nailed it. The C8 is hugely significant but it isn’t perfect and neither are most of its competitors. Cars are very good these days and it often comes down to shades of grey with reviews. That said, the quibbles with the C8 are consistent and can be improved with time. Enjoy all this and stop over analyzing it.

I just read it and it seems like the guy was just being honest and didn't feel like since GM let him drive it, he owed them a review that said it was better than any other car on earth. He didn't **** all over it, he was complimentary in areas he felt it deserved.

LETS END THIS 911 BULLCRAP ONCE AND FOR ALL ....
If all you made was plain vanilla ice cream for 50 years it better be DAMM GOOD plain vanilla Ice Cream
1. There has never been a more plain tired looking sports car in all history to the point that anyone else other than a Porsche enthusiast can't tell the difference between the latest car and one 4 models ago . So looks out of the way... the 911 is the biggest basic bitch of all sports cars and turns ZERO heads
2. The reason we never see a 500+hp really fast 911s (the expensive 500+ hp 911 turbos NEVER gets called out as a brilliant drivers car) is because they CAN'T ..It's like the Subaru BRZ or Mazda Miata , great fun to drive because being slow means its within it's limits
3. Men to Women ratio of 911 owners are 99 to 1 with the C8 it's the closest it's ever been . Guess which one impresses women?
4. With a 0 to 60 under 3 seconds and good looks a C8 will have every 911 owner's significant other looking at them with a "your car is lame" expression if they ever dare pull up next to one at a traffic light and for 90% of owners that's about as competitive as they get
5. Auto Jurnos are as LAME as basic bitch 911s have you ever heard them spout off at how BORING a 911 interior is but they can't seem to stop trashing Corvettes for decades

NCD again proves he has no literary skills, nothing beyond a grade school vocabulary and is singularly lacking in understanding anything beyond pitch black and blizzard whiteout.
