I am doing this mod as well, I found mine at Suburban Auto Parts It showed one in stock, so I called and verified it, and it was there, the guy told me that even it was gone, its a ONE DAY to get more, I pished the button, and it shipped that day! uf you go to that link above, its a direct link to the part and the number is there.

I am a bit confused. So is everyone masking off the script with tape or are you removing them with fishing line and then reattaching with 3m tape?

Tried very fine stainless steel wire , started to tear aluminum . Switched to Frog Tape , took a little over 1 hour , VG results .

I was hoping the badge from the front facisa would fit on the engine cover also-unfortunately it is larger. Painting is probably a better option.

it DOES fit on the cover.....look at the pictures above as that is EXACTLY what that badge is. yes its a tad larger, but it fits AND actually looks a let better than a smaller one tat you have to hand paint.

How did you attach it, since it is not perfectly flat (at least mine is not-it came off of the nose of my car). The auto shop was reluctant to try to attach it when I suggested it.

What I did was I used a (wife's) hair dryer on HIGH HEAT and heated it up a but and applied pressure to it in the center......I had to do this repeatedly until I got it flat....I didn't want to get it too hot.

Why didn't GM have this as Standard to match the valve covers? Lame IMHO.

OR have the option to get valve covers and engine covers as a set, INSTALLED DURING THE BUILD process to match the car color.....

Did I miss that? I don't recall Sebring orange as an option for that.

LOL no you didn't miss anything….I was saying I WISH there wouldn't have been an option for that....especially seeing as how the passenger side valve cover isn't an easy task....it can be done, but a major PITA, as I saw one removed on a car recently where they were doing the R and R for a valve spring fix on that side.

Thanks. I thought that I might have had a senior moment during configuration last year.

That's a missed opportunity by GM.
