Can someone please explain to me how not displaying a target production week enables more sold orders to be placed into production??? What am I missing?

It sounds like the words "deliberately over allocating estimated shipments" have something to do with it. Perhaps letting them move TRE orders to later dates before they reach 3300.

May just be a logistical thing, imagine the work involved with trying to manage thousands of orders and then they make a production TPW change on 15 cars. Then they have to turn around and update hundreds of order dates. Glad it's their mess to deal with and not mine.

Some dealers were trying to slip $tock units in the que before $old units. Can't blame 'em for tryin' to make a buck.

Ok but isn't production entirely controlled by GM, not the Dealer? And couldn't GM simply sit on stock orders and only build Sold orders? And what does any of this have to do with displaying, or not displaying, a TPW???

I believe my dealer did just that, split their to date allocations between $tock units and $old units. Not very happy!

Some dealers are worried about Sold orders not selling to the Sold Order Buyer. If Chevrolet audits them it's possible for Chevrolet to penalize the dealer for it. So even though the dealership has the unit sold they input it as a retail unit. Frankly I think dealers with Retail units should be last on priority.
