I'm just guessing here but I imagine its not much different. The reason is the cost is about the same and the risk and market is about the same. The only issue may be the cost or repair but my thinking is its not much different either.
That being said --- nothing is ever "less". Never waste a good crisis.

Probably just as it’s been for every new generation change - slightly higher rates. Nothing to get worried over.

I have AllState and the quota on my C8 based on window sticker with the exact same coverages as my 2017 Grand Sport is less than $50 higher.
i have a printed quota from them and also got one from Geico.

I have received a quote from my insurance company, USAA, very similar pricing compared to our '17 3LT Grand Sport. Maybe $20 more every 6 months.

I have multiple quotes and it's virtually the same as a C7.
The HTC is ~$20/month more.

You will never know what it's really going to cost until you give your insurance company the VIN number.

Gave my insurance company the VIN number of a CTF vehicle I am considering that was built on 1/23. It is currently 4B00(bayed). I was pleasantly surprised! I'm in Florida and it was less than $750 for 6 months and that is a new policy with no discounts like I have on my older policies.

I did that with GEICO (Had them for 40 years) before I got the VIN for my C7. Their increase seemed normal for a new car versus my older C6. Then when I had the VIN and contacted GEICO the price escalated to over $1000 more per year. I dropped them like a hot potato and moved to Travelers and cut my cost to 1/3 of the GEICO price for more coverage.

Just remember, what YOU pay for insurance has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with what someone else is going to pay. Coverage levels, deductibles, other insurance products, how the company handles claims, your credit score, (yes, they do look at that too), driving history, claim history... Probably the biggest factor is where you live, down to zipcode.
If I tell you have have full coverage, (100/300/100) limits, uninsured, medical payments, rental, roadside assistance, $3000 for accessories, ($0 ded) $1000 deductible, a $3million dollar liability umbrella, and pay $872 a year for the C7. That's only part of the story... I have 5 cars, 2 motorcycles, an ATV, homeowners, and a supplemental jewelry and electronics rider, and business insurance with the same company. My total insurance bill is about $5,000 a year... Funny, how my wife's one year newer Kia cost more to insure than the C7.
And no, I'm not worried about how much the C8 will be...
Oh, and if you don't have a liability umbrella, you are an idiot.

I got a quote on an 2019 just to get a reference point. It was about $1200 per year thru Allstate with $1,000 deductible. I'm going to have to requote as soon as I get a vin number. I'm hoping it's not more than 15 or 20% more for the new car.
