Default What should odometer be upon delivery

So with people getting very close to taking delivery, I am wondering what the odometer should have on it. Once it leaves the assembly area, do they take a short drive to test for squeaks or rattles etc. I’ve never had a brand new Corvette and wondering what should be right.
I wouldn’t want dealership salesmen, porters etc, as test pilots.
Thoughts?

Majority of the time they're under 60 miles. Depends on if the car was selected to be driven around for QC.

The odometer will have the last 2 digits of the vehicule VIN on it.
They do it intentionally .....

So if the last two digits are 99, they are going to put 99 miles on the car, that is pretty strange? I would certainly not prefer that.

I think it depends if the car is selected for a shakedown drive at the factory.

I would prefer the car have 10 or 30 miles of testing at factory .

I have purchased 3 new C7 had 21 miles 3 mile and 18 miles respectively.

I alway felt that a shake down from factory was in my best interest.

I know other get bent out of shape because the car had 5 mile at delivery.

All the cars must be taken to fill the fuel cell prior to delivery as from factory I believe it only has a few gallons of gas the fill prior to delivery is dealership responsibility.

Anywhere from 2 to 25 miles. My 2006 had 2 miles, my 2013 had 5, and my 2017 had 22.

It's amazing you remember that so specifically.

Both times I got a new Vette the miles were @ 2. I was told on the tour that a QC drive could take it up to 25.

that sounds like my experience too. They were chasing some jd powers award on the c5s once upon a time which required a certain amount or testing behind the factory 20 years ago. Never know what testing they plan to do.

i have lot of pictures of my deliveries including the odometer so it’s easy to remember.

If my memory serves me well, which it doesn't, you could request that the Corvette you ordered have a special test, over and above the normal test, after assembly. The test is over 100 miles and you get a substantial read out of every system. I think it is performed after every 300 cars.

It really depends on how many people work at the dealership. All the sales guys are gonna drive it, at least half the mechanics, the guy who preps it is definitely taking it home for the night to show the wife and kids, and I’m pretty sure the lot rat who washes cars will even find an excuse to take a few laps around the block in it. I’d say if your car is the first or second delivered plan on more than a hundred and fingers crossed for under 300. The REAL question will be - besides all the miles, how many people took turns climbing in and out to sit in it?

This is probably your guy right here....

Every new Ferrari has ~50 miles on the odometer. Bugatti's even more. The horror of a Corvette having more than 3....

Great question I’ve also pondered.

If ~ 20+ miles means your car went through QC, I think I’d prefer that piece of mind. My Shelby had 3 when I got it new 2 years ago. No issues thus far but I’d trade a few miles for a stamp of approval.
