This is why dealers don’t allow test drives on most sports cars. Because if there are more than 10 miles on the odometer many people refuse to buy it as they don’t consider it new.

On one new car I bought (can’t remember if it was Ford or Chevy) there was a paper explaining the fact that it had been selected for a QC check and that’s why it had xx miles on it. It was in the neighborhood of 20 miles I think.

I wouldn’t want dealership salesmen, porters etc, as test pilots.
Thoughts?
My 2016 had 5

5miles on 2016 Z06 , right off truck that day. If you order it they should not be letting people demo.

2 - 99 miles depending on where the lot jockey was picking up lunch for the crew.

My 97 C5 had 4 miles on the car when it came off the trailer. I put another 30 on it doing a test drive before I signed the papers. My C7Z had 15 miles on it sitting on the showroom floor.

Museum delivery does not have any affect on the odometer miles. QC is done before being delivered to museum.

I agree and am fine with QC being done, just figured that all other non essential asses (as in butts) wont touch it.

I think his point was that with museum delivery no dealership staff has the opportunity to drive it.

It depends on how many test drives the dealer takes other potential buyers on.

I have bought new cars with 5 miles and new cars with 50 miles on them.

I picked up my C7 at the Museum. It had 24 miles on it, and I was told it had been QC'ed by the plant. I did a lap of the race track, and headed down the Natchez Trace Parkway for my break in miles. I put the car in my Austin garage two days later with 1200 miles on it.

I plan on picking mine up at the Museum as well, first time there for me. Can you elaborate a bit on the lap at the track and the drive back? I will driving it back to Houston and plan on doing the Natchez Trace Parkway and maybe even Tail of the Dragon which I know is a bit out of the way.

Thanks.

My dealership owner asked that I give him a ride when the car comes in....I reminded him that the car is HIS until he sells it to me...Go ahead and drive it!. He said, No, No, No....Only my PDI guy will put a few miles on the car until we deliver it to you...:-)....
