What should odometer be upon delivery

This is why dealers don’t allow test drives on most sports cars. Because if there are more than 10 miles on the odometer many people refuse to buy it as they don’t consider it new.

On one new car I bought (can’t remember if it was Ford or Chevy) there was a paper explaining the fact that it had been selected for a QC check and that’s why it had xx miles on it. It was in the neighborhood of 20 miles I think.

Mileage
So with people getting very close to taking delivery, I am wondering what the odometer should have on it. Once it leaves the assembly area, do they take a short drive to test for squeaks or rattles etc. I’ve never had a brand new Corvette and wondering what should be right.
I wouldn’t want dealership salesmen, porters etc, as test pilots.
Thoughts?

5miles on 2016 Z06 , right off truck that day. If you order it they should not be letting people demo.

My 97 C5 had 4 miles on the car when it came off the trailer. I put another 30 on it doing a test drive before I signed the papers. My C7Z had 15 miles on it sitting on the showroom floor.

I agree and am fine with QC being done, just figured that all other non essential asses (as in butts) wont touch it.

I picked up my C7 at the Museum. It had 24 miles on it, and I was told it had been QC'ed by the plant. I did a lap of the race track, and headed down the Natchez Trace Parkway for my break in miles. I put the car in my Austin garage two days later with 1200 miles on it.

My dealership owner asked that I give him a ride when the car comes in....I reminded him that the car is HIS until he sells it to me...Go ahead and drive it!. He said, No, No, No....Only my PDI guy will put a few miles on the car until we deliver it to you...:-)....
