Default Deposit in today - MacMulkin

I placed my deposit and entered an order today with MacMulkin- C8, Torch Red, Carbon Flash Wheels, Red Calipers, Black Int with Red Stitch, 3LT, Z51 with Mag Ride, Engine Appearance Package, Carbon Flash Mirrors and Spoiler, Carbon Fiber Int Trim, Museum Delivery- $84,925. I was told it would be a 2020 or 2021 depending on how things go. I was fine with that as I plan on a Fall trip to pick it up and tour the area after. Maybe head to Kiawah, maybe tour the Smokeys, I don't know- will figure that out later. I was so excited I forgot to ask where on the list I am- so sorry can't help with any info on that. Had a tough couple of weeks trying to decide on color- wanted to love something other than Torch Red as I have that in my C5 Z06 now- but just love it on the C8. The Sebring Orange Tintcoat is amazing on the C7 and would like that also.

Regards,

JMP

Don't forget- that number changes after releases to production and drop-outs. So I am assuming that I am still at the end of the line currently.

They just sent me this:

You're now number 283.
Quite a drop in two months

That makes sense- if I remember there are about 70-80 allocations per month. I think the reason they are quoting possibly 2021 now is at my number I am 5 months from allocation plus manufacturing and quality hold- so 7 months or so until delivery.

I placed mine on Tuesday of this week with MacMulkin and I'm 391 so you're only a couple spots from me. They told me the same thing about delivery dates at this point. I may see you at the museum as mine will be delivered there too . (Of course I realize we make take delivery on different days, just sayin')

There will be NO quality hold after the initial hold in February (however long that hold lasts). Once the hold is released, there will be no more QC holds.

Thanks-

How long from release to manufacturing to delivery? Is it two months? Does my timeline look correct of about 7 months?

We are in the same boat. I wired my deposit to MacMulkin last night and they got it this morning. Arctic white 1LT, adrenaline red int, z51 no mag ride, body color high wing and black wheels, $67140 MSRP. Doing courtesy delivery to a dealership close to me. I don't know what number I am yet but salesman told me right around 400 just before I sent the wire, not including the 150 or so orders that are already in, so I guess that would put me at about 550? Even if GM cuts their original allocations by 20% I don't see how we fall into a 2021 unless I am counting something wrong. I think we'd still be within their first 75% of total allocations. I really want a 2020. I think we're gonna see a $5K price increase for the '21s.

They already have in over 200 orders, but they don't count those when they give your current number in line. I moved from high 300;s to low 100;s from September till now. Hope to have my order placed in Feb or Mar. Once GM starts running two shifts at full capacity they will accept more orders per month.

I guess a bunch of us are jumping in with MacMulkin today. I emailed my info and put a deposit check in the mail today. I am specifically waiting for a 2021 so if my number comes up with a MY 2020 allocation I will have them skip over me. I should be near the top of the list for a 2021 either way. Expecting to pick up the car in October or November at the museum.

Congrats I don't think there are many other options at this point unless you want to hold out hope that you can swoop in on a cancellation when the deliveries start arriving. I think those won't be easy to get, either. Dealer will prb want to put them on the lot as standing inventory with ADM rather than sell to someone with a pre order at MSRP.

Thanks. I will actually pass on a 2020, I would rather have the newer 2021 model year since I would be getting it close to the same time anyways. I’m also hoping that FE4 mag suspension will be a stand alone option for the 2021s as I will add that to my non Z51 build if it’s available. I’ll just have to suck up whatever inevitable price hike comes with the new model year. It’s only money, lol.

Hope you are correct about accepting more orders per month. I’m in the mid 100’s and am hoping I get to place my order in March. They need to average a few more for that to happen.
